Consider that Democrats have lots of college kids and unemployed people with nothing but time on their hands to volunteer. Most republicans have jobs and families and don’t have time to volunteer for long periods.
Nah, plenty of fat, useless lumps on Republican and conservative payrolls. Although assuming what you said is true, then that basically means Republicans are destined to lose. One side relies on organizing and strategy, the other side relies on crossing their fingers that their base will show up and multidimensional chessmastering. Little surprise that the side that organizes and has a strategy keeps winning over the side that hopes a deus ex machina in the form of baste minorities will save their bacon.

That particular Pandora's Box isn't going to close anytime soon. That shit relates to music, movies, and vidya, and all of those companies are notoriously incompetent and corrupt. Having digital media means THEY can control it rather than the people, and there ain't no fucking way they are giving that up.
It won’t close all the way, but it will likely be scaled back pretty significantly. The reality is that without either ample VC funds (Netflix, Spotify) or the backing of a giant corporation (YouTube, Twitch, Disney+, etc) streaming is basically a giant moneypit because the economies of scale just don’t work out. The movie/TV streaming wars are basically a war of attrition where NOBODY is going to come out on top, Disney et al. are losing billions on their proprietary streaming platforms choking out Netflix in the process. I don’t know how it’s going to end, but the current status quo is entirely unsustainable, especially in the rough economic waters ahead.

Nearly every digital industry seems to have these massive unworkable flaws that seem to point towards some collapse "in the near future".

Streaming services, hell, a lot of the whole digital/app services have been in a pit where borderline none of them are profitable, and are propped up purely by the idea that if we dump enough VC into them eventually they will become so nessesary/a monopoly that it'll be able to up prices to make them profitable "in the near future".
AAA Vidya is horrendously broken and geared so heavily that it takes like five years to output a proper game, those games are horrendously expensive and somehow still incomplete and it all those games purely fixate on the maximum amount of money it can extract and is throughly unsustainable once people have to tighten their belts.
Advertising is likely a bubble too since it's damn near impossible to prove they actually do anything and the mainstream sites are getting increasingly less usable as ads clutter up everything. YouTube's damn near unwatchable without AdBlock of some kind. Advertising now probably only generates the revenue it does due to how much Facebook and Google can chant about how much data they can extract. If someone were to develop some mobile adblocker like Adnausem and get it into mainstream usage (Adnausem basically just blocks ads but sends false engagement to the advert, turning the ad data into potentially useless garbage, about 200k people use it and it might cost Google like $13k a day)
Modern day social media seems bereft with dozens of problems and it doesn't seem like the current culture war would allow new social media sites to spring up if the old ones were to collapse.

But these are all just the "in the future" issues and it's almost mind-numbing to stare at these issues and only have "in the future" as a reassurance. Can we just have Great Depression 2 Electric Boogaloo already ffs.

Streaming could be made profitable. Not omg omega money but profitable and effective. But it requires infrastructure such as data centers and physical hardware and investors hate companies having actual capital assets these days.

All the streaming companies are paying a tithe to either Amazon, Google, or Microsoft. The vast majority to Amazon thats what makes them money not delivering shit from China to you.

Shit like "make 100 million investment in IT infrastructure that will pay for itself in 5 years" is not something modern companies can do anymore for the most part. Also once you do sign up for AWS all your shit is built around it and it will take tens of millions to get off of it.

‘DEBT CEILING THEATER’ BEGINS

Cartoon published 01/20/23

It’s time once again for another episode of ‘Debt Ceiling Theater.’ It’s a reoccurring show that features performances by both parties.

The Democrats will demand that the debt ceiling be raised in order to save ‘our democracy,’ while the Republicans will strut and cry for spending cuts and ‘fiscal responsibility.’

There will be a great consternation and gnashing of teeth. The Democrats will say Republicans want to cut Social Security and Medicare while the Republicans will accuse the Democrats of being reckless socialists bent on destroying our economy. Will there be a government shut down?

The performance may go on for a few days, but in the end a compromise will be made. The Debt Ceiling will be raised because Big Government always protects itself as it expands. Both parties want their paychecks, their pensions and benefits, as well as a continuance of their power and prestige. People have been conditioned to believe they cannot do without government. They will stress out if there are no longer rulers there to tell them what to do.

The Secretary of Treasury will reassure us that she has a back up plan just in case. Her friends at the Federal Reserve already have their privately-owned money printing press on standby—ready to crank out endless debt dollars. They can create endless counterfeit currency. The people cannot, hence they will grow poorer.

What Congress never seems to realize is they have constitutional power to print up money on their own. Debt-free money. There’s no reason we should pay interest on our own money to privately-owned central banks.

There’s no need for the IRS. Instead, Congress handed over their power to globalist, private central bankers, who use their talisman, Black Rock, to spend the money they print up to buy out stocks, real estate, and bonds to keep things propped up. The problem with that is the central banker owners will eventually own and control everything. Klaus Schwab was not elected by anyone, but he will end up ruling us all, thanks to an immoral system of money.

The debt ceiling is meaningless at this point. The debt can never be paid back, but it will cause most American citizens to become even poorer as a handful of ultra-rich dominant globalist men get richer and more controlling.

BILL AND HEN’S EGG-CELLENT ADVENTURE

Tina Toon published 01/22/23

Have you bought a dozen eggs lately? Egg prices skyrocketed in 2022. Prices have receded a little in 2023 but still remain high. If you can score a carton of eggs, consider yourself lucky as many stores are reporting shortages and empty shelves. Don’t forget about all the poultry processing plants burning down across the country in 2022 also.

Coincidence? Maybe not.

Welcome to Biden’s ‘strong economy’ where stores are out of baby formula and eggs. America’s bounty has turned into scarcity.

Reminds us of the empty stores in the old Soviet Union and the breadlines during another Democrat socialist, Franklin D. Roosevelt.

History is repeating itself.

The only ones that are celebrating are the chickens.

That old chicken coop just got upgraded!

And to end, I think I can speak for everyone with a brain:

“CLUCK BIDEN”

Always stay sunny side up!

I think there is a notion in the American right-wing some have that more or less says organizing, playing the "activist", building grassroots movements and protesting are liberal or Democrat tactics which is why they won't adopt those methods. The Romans are said to of held disdain for the bow and arrow as a weapon but that didn't stop them from eventually trying to use it. I don't know why people keep assuming political pundits, magically appearing "great men" or deus ex machina minorities will fix Republican voting issues.

Unless anything changes, sometime in a hypothetical future that resembles nothing like the present a person will ask another "whatever happened to the conservatives in this country?" the other individual will reply jokingly "they were too busy working to care about the nation".

I would agree but for zuckerbergs bet on meta verse.

facebook could run lean selling ads and farming information. along with buying new competitors. like insta and whatsapp

tik tok broke that tred.
The metaverse is DOA. It was terminal but the crypto crash really killed it. The graphics were shitty for the money they invested and what was already developed. Crypto was supposed to be the currency in the metaverse but the hype has been dying because cryto wasn't the wundercurrency everyone hoped it would be, plus scams and bankruptcy, see FTX. Practical application is nil. Its the segway of our time.

yep and because facebook spent billions on developing oculus and the other shit for it. It can take the whole company down.

There are currently riots going on in downtown Atlanta and the media is doing the "mostly peaceful" 2020 shit again. One of those clips includes a burning police car. I never bought into the "Antifa is funded by Soros" thing because having lived in one of the cities where they thrive there are more than enough mentally unstable people who seriously believe in that crap but man, you really have to wonder what is going on for major news corporations and Wikipedia to cover for these subhumans.
Wikipedia is a joke at this point. Look into it in any depth on here and you can see it's a rotten corpse with a veneer of credibility remaining.

The news corporations not already calling them out cannot acknowledge Antifa being a credible threat because they have spent years mocking and undermining anyone who did so. Breaking step now is a dangerous move. That said every single one of them will have those articles ready to go and if any of them publishes one of those you can almost guarantee more will do so soon after.

Antifa are largely a joke in America. The majority of them have had their wrists felt during the 2020 riots and though they got away free their details are on record and as soon as it's deemed that they're no longer useful they'll be swept up in a matter of weeks. A few die hard nuts will make it out and some of them are real threats. But the heart of them in America could be gutted in an instant by a combination of that and, as others already posted, their support both glowy and none washing their hands of them.

I think it's also because community organizing is fundamentally about dividing people into distinct micro-communities, finding out what each one wants, then promising the gibs or accusing your opponent of blocking the gibs. It's harder to community-organize around abstract ideas like freedom, self-determination, or border security (if you are far from the border). Conservatism was never about gibs--excuse me, delivery of government services--but about maintaining the structures of governance that we think are moral, time-tested, and work well. We can pull off the occasional national movement (TEA party, election integrity), but ongoing community organizing? I don't know.

The problem with VR is that it hasn't properly tapped into the one force that has driven the popular adoption every technological innovation so far, pornography.

I'm pretty sure there's a whole bunch of vr porn out there. I think the reality is that VR really is just a gimmick like motion controls. I tried it once and played some fps on it. the controls were clunky, the camera was jank and my head hurt. Another thing is being a clumsy person (even without a vr headset on) combined with not having any real space to work with.

It would have to work on a community-by-community context approach I think. Realistically for anything long-term the infrastructure in the form of organizations and networks would have to be built as well and not much of that really exists in the right-wing camp currently. I think the potential is there to match the Democratic activist machine but it would take time and resources.

I think the cool idea of virtual reality is wearing thin on a lot of people. The novelty is no longer entirely a novelty and the execution of the concept in reality doesn't match the expectations. Maybe if the technology improved substantially along with some other things there would be more of a demand for it.

With all due respect I think you guys are overlooking why Democrats tend to be more successfully in elections than Republicans.

Democrats give their voters things. token jobs, power, influence, and in the case of niggers direct cash payments via welfare.

Republicans refuse to give their voters anything because that would be socialism. Then they spend 99% of their time giving woke corporations tax cuts which everyone hates.

Rep. Katherine Clark has connections to seemingly at least half a dozen lolcows with names like Zoe Quinn and Brianna Wu. Add another name to the list with her lolcalf non-binary son getting arrested at the Boston protest for the Atlanta riots.
