Occam’s Razor on the marriage issue: They have a temporary marriage (Nikah Mu’tah) as has been said multiple times in this thread.

He had to have been on a prior work permit with his old taxi/delivery job, since he'd aged out of "family residency" based off his father's job. Salah only worked the "new" retail job with Alaa for a few days before quitting.

If Salah got an up to date work permit, then he may have gone back to court again to renew/update his civil ID and work-based residency permit, which is his only way to remain legally in Kuwait.
