Community Tard Baby General (includes brain dead kids) - Fundies and their genetic Fuckups; Parents of corpses in denial

Shill t shirts or raise money for the extra costs of having a kid with complex medical needs? Big difference between T shirts and Monat/Healy.
Yeah it's fine if it's really for the kid's benefit. That's what Paisley's mom said but then used it all on stupid shit and won't even get her a nurse. MLMs are really the worst though. Common Robyn L.

Off topic but not off topic. I was wondering about Tinslee and apparently she was allowed to go home in April. No news since then so it's like Schrodingers box. Not alive or dead until something else comes out but it's asad thought this girl will just live out her days with 24/7 care and hooked up to machines.
I guess the reality of having Tinslee home isn't instagrammable.

Theres a woman on IG who has a severely autistic child and is constantly posting about masking and how others must do it because he can't. Today she posted that he rother kid suddenly can't open his eyes that his eyelids have STOPPED working. She has decided with a doctor that its autoimmune so shes just gonna make him live that way from now on try a medication. She had no other testing done. She said she MIGHT find out if Mayo would look at him. Don't know but if I had a kid that suddenly had to HOLD THEIR EYES OPEN WITH THEIR FINGERS maybe it be important to find out why ASAP.

Constantly posting about making what?

Sorry masking. She posts a lot about how people will make her autistic child sick and freaks out about it, but is pretty much calm as could be about this kid.
Is it sad that I'm mildly surprised a shitty IG mommyblogger is at least feigning interest in the wellbeing of their autistic kid, even if it's just for attention and internet asspats?

Usually they're 10 seconds away from murdering or "rehoming" the autistic kid.

I was on the nursing staff at Stallington Hall Hospital, a facility for severely mentally and physically handicapped people. These institutions when run well were the perfect place for unfortunates and a kind way for society to deal with people suffering with disabilities in a humane way.

The sort of things we dealt with were people with brain damage because water on the brain caused their head to expand to 3 feet across. Very low functioning autistic people. Criminally insane people who were a danger to society.

I recall one story where a baby was left at the hospital and his parents told the staff that they never wanted to see or hear about their child again. He was a high ranking Royal Air Force officer and the child had to wear a rugby hat because all he did was punch his head.

The UK opted for “care in the community” and it was disastrous. Since the rise of the “influencer”, a lot of parents see a route to “fame” by parading their lickle miracles. It’s grotesque. The most humane place for the severely mentally handicapped is a secure, safe institution.

The Victorians got a lot of things right.

Eh, institutions still are notorious for abuse. I can understand someone with a lot of support needs not being able to live at home, but I would think unless the situation is pretty dire a group home in the community would be better than an institution.

Shoving disabled people in institutions historically was less about helping them as it was getting them out of sight and mind so normies could pretend they didn't exist (plus they made for a great way to get rid of other "undesirables", like women unhappy with being bangmaids to gross dudes).

The ideal is having a disabled person in their home with their loved ones supporting them. Sometimes it isn't possible, but we owe it to every disabled person to give them a real home with people who genuinely understand their worth. Everyone has value. Everyone deserves a home and family. It's something worth striving for as a society, and something I'm willing to sacrifice some autonomy in my own life for if a degree of government oversight will make it possible.

You are partly right. There wasn’t any abuse that I saw and as most of the patients were “voluntary”, they could come and go as they please. Some even visited the local pub.

You are correct in that sone people were placed in institutions because for example a girl was an underage mother. Some Nonces were also put into secure units.

But I witnessed some people with horrific conditions where it would be a danger for them to be in public. The alternatives for some would have been cruel freak shows.

Mistakes - very few of them - were made. I still feel the extreme conditions these individuals had were so acute that incarceration was the kindest thing for them.
YMMV, but that’s my “overshare”

It's hard because sometimes the best solution is still bad.
