The Last of Us Tv Show - Anyone saw this?

I've never played the game, but I remember the whole degeneracy around it.

Anyway, this review score seems way off to me. It barely came out and yet it's rated by 76K people on IMDB and achieving a 9.4/10 score.

It's fishy because this does not happen typically. Reviews are usually sparse the next day of the premiere, and such a high grade almost literally never happens, even less so on such a high number of ratings.

Has anybody given the show a chance? Is it really this great or just review bombing "the right way"?

just finished the second ep. its alright its hitting all the beats of the first game well , I don't like the girl they got to play the part of the special , shes annoying and her forehead too big. The girl they cast as Ellie looks really weird, like she's 12 and 20 at the same time. they're doing a shot for shot of the intro in the first episode its pretty neat

I saw her bio, which seems to say that she was known for her role in GOT, becoming a "fan favorite".

You can learn more about her roles here, across 9 episodes and 6 seasons, she was "present" in various scenes. Can't believe I did not immediately recognized the little retard, such a great character.

Anyway, I guess I'll give it chance.

I only watched the first episode because movie night jannies forced us to. I would say this show is good if you've never played the game that's been re-released as much as Skyrim and are not burnt out from the zombie's craze of 2010-2013. Normal people who've played the game and decided to watch this are probably annoyed from the casting choice and rewriting of shit like how the funguy is spread through hentai means instead of normal mushroom activity then there's the obviously braindead ideological consoomer crowd. I don't think they actually watched it, they just defend it because they think anyone who doesn't like their gay butt sex trannie shit is Hitler.

Also this show show's the detrimental state that is in house Sony video games. Stop buying sony games, go on youtube and watch a full "playthrough" from youtube channels that are dedicated to uploading full playthroughs. Like damn imagine paying $60+ for a movie. Most modern sony games can be played with your feet with simply using your left big toe to hold forward on the left joystick and right foot for action buttons. If you need the bumpers you can just move your full foot forward to cause the trigger bumper to close in on itself until you hit a cutscene sequence that's basically a movie on its own.

Been watching it. Platinumed the game twice. I think they've been overall doing pretty well. A lot of the first episode was almost shot-for-shot the same as the game intro.

The Ellie chick is interesting because she doesnt look like the game character, but she looks a lot like the voice actress, who kinda sorta looks like in-game Ellie.

I kinda wonder if they polished and used any game assets for CGI, because a lot of the set pieces are very true to the game.

I guess I can forgive the fungus tentacle thing... In a "behind the scenes" they mention that spore spread in real life is different from the game (where spore dangers are very localized), so they adapted it a bit.

It looks like theyre fleshing out more backstory, with 'before-time' vignettes, and it looks like episode 3 will give the "Frank and Bill" backstory.

Hopefully they stay true to the game story through the series and don't poz it up (any more than Bill's in-game-implied-gay-ass already is).

Anyone know if this is supposed to go all the way into TLOU2 (I never played it)?

Sony has been pushing all of their video game IPs, onto TVs in the form of movies and TV shows. Heck, even a Gran Turismo movie is being made, and will be in theaters in August.

Yes. With how good a clip they're going at with the show, it'll easily fit. The parts with Bill and the black kids only would need one episode each, and that's the first half of the game with only 4 of the 10 episodes slotted.

Which is dumb because it's not like anything else about the fungus is realistic. You never learn where it came from in the game, and while the climate adaptation thing is kinda interesting that's not realistic either; the only way this thing could suddenly be so advanced is if it's a bioweapon or something (even just the basic zombie stuff; all the variants could be something that adapted through stress over 20 years after it killed/assimilated most of its human food supply, I guess) so anything's on the table really.

Most of the changes I can explain from a production standpoint as setting up for this to be a Walking Dead thing that runs forever post-giraffe, but this one makes no sense to me. Like when they went into that museum the air was crystal clear... yet normally any production designer would dump a tonne of dust into the set set the moment flashlights come out, so they're making a real point of it. It's just weird. Spores would add a lot.
It's not like they'd be wearing space helmets all the time either. Even in the game the gas masks/bandanas go down as quickly as they go on.
