I once, many many years ago, developed a physical dependence on alcohol to the point where I would shake during the day when I didn’t drink and would get horrible nightmares/ couldn’t sleep at night without it (I’m fine now and have a pretty normal relationship with alcohol these days thankfully). No DTs or anything, but a dependence nonetheless. I can’t tell just how much Nick drinks every day but it needs to be both quite a bit and on a regular daily basis to get to the point of physical dependence. From the little I have seen, he isn’t there yet, but could be if he keeps up the drinking at regular intervals day and night. My tell for most people with a physical dependence is also that they tend to act very normal and normies usually can’t tell that you have been drinking at all because your behavior is normal (thanks to the alcohol ironically). Nick still gets dumb drunk pretty quickly which tells me he likely isn’t there yet.

He could still recover even if he started to develop the shakes— that’s actually one of the earlier steps in hardcore physical dependence. Again, it is hard for me to tell where he is at. There have also been plenty of alcohol Karens both here and on other forums that got upset when he would get tipsy on screen, which muddies the water even more.
