The 1970s was the coolest decade, followed by the 1950s.

The 1960s don't exist. The early 1960s were culturally part of the 1950s. The late 1960s were part of the 1970s. The idea of "the 1960s" as a cultural period is something that's been sold to people.

I feel like people weren't getting what I meant by this. In terms of music, clothing, and political/subcultural activity, the early 1960s felt much more like the 1950s, and the late 1960s and early 1970s are the same. If you're listening to oldies, rock'n'roll music, you'll often find that what sounds like a 50s rock and roll song actually comes from the 60s. And the people were wearing similar clothing, and the culture was similar conservative and square. The hippie shit didn't take off until the tail end of the decade, and then the early 1970s were full of hippie culture, just grungier because that "Summer of Love" was literally one summer before it fell apart.

A perfect society wouldn't be a consumerist one but I feel like consumerism is overhated. If you enjoy a piece of media, you should consume it and I don't think buying merchandise to support something you like, especially something indie, is a bad idea.

Older troons were okay. I think all the hatred for troons now comes from the last 10 years of elite liberal kids and corporate shenanigans. People should hate this shit in it's current form but I don't have anything against old troons for the most part.
Older drag queens/troons just seemed like people who knew they were weird and hung around their own instead of forcing it on anyone. I respect the troons/fags from the 80s because they bitched the least even though they had way more of a right to. They also made better music than whatever they got today. And most of the ones I've met never mentioned being said group once, let alone fifty.

Every film in history would be infinitely more enjoyabable if there was almost no pop culture reference made to it and people had no idea what the fuck it is. A film loses it's nuance when it becomes part of the publix lexicon and the only thing people know about it is one line or scene. It just ends with most younger generations being disappointed when it's nothing like what it's been parodied, referenced, built up to be. People also are really shitty about using context when quoting/remembering anything about it. A line that has a very specific context in the movie becomes butchered when it becomes so known.

The reason that most award shows in Hollywood are meaningless is not just due to “Wokeness” and political agendas being inserted into them. It’s mainly due to the fact that most of the entertainment in question is either unrecognizable or unknown to the mainstream at large.

Not even China can bail them out that much, since most of their art is not meant to please other people outside of their Asian countries.

Showers > Baths, I always found baths as a form of comfort just somewhat disgusting as you just wash in your own soup. A nice long shower is infinitely more refreshing and leaves you feeling better than a bath ever would.

Good baths exist, they just need a lot more requirements. A bath needs your feet to actually be able to reach the other side of it without bucking your knees (which is rare) and enough decent hot water that you're not running out by the time it reaches the top in case you want to want to stay a while. The biggest problem with baths is your body gets used to the water temperature so fast that it doesn't feel as relaxing as a good hot shower. After a while for me it just feels like I'm laying in luke-warm water instead of a steaming bath.

Also unrelated but I'm getting a little tired of everyone bitching about the left co-opting their movies/comics/literature. This stuff was always made by sensitive leftie types. There was never a time when any artform was conservative leaning. Just back then the things the left cared were actually bigger issues than whatever they're talking about now (preaching not to kill blacks is a little more endearing than talking about pronouns), they knew how to entertain, and there was some nuance/balance in the stuff. But it gets a little annoying seeing people act like jews just took over and started ruining things they liked in the last 10 years when they created the shit people complain they were ruining.
