Alex says that one of the benefits of the subscriber only chats is that he wouldn't have to deal with kids and their cringe.

And whines some more about people complaining about him adding useless features.

He also claims to have an upcoming hack-and-slash game that's totally not Lunar Scythe.

Just a question for all of us who aren't in the server - how active is YanDev in that Discord? I wouldn't imagine its around the clock active, and if it is, what are the typical times where he pops in? Only at night/the morning/only when pinged/completely random/24/7? Just curious to get an accuate picture of how his time is spent in a day

Honestly, I didn't mind him wasting time on dumb stuff. At least it was entertaining.
Thanks for suffering through the Discord server for us Activelo.

Considering that it's his hugbox, he's quite active, although he definitely doesn't have it up 24/7 unless he gets pinged or something. IIRC, there was even a few days where he had the "Do Not Disturb" light on and didn't participate in the server at all. Usually though, he tends to pop in with messages seemingly at random, even early in the morning or late at night.

If you really want to graph out how he spends his day, you might have to bite the bullet and join the server yourself since I'm frankly not autistic enough to figure that out.

At this point I see a new developer starting a YandereSim clone and finishing it before the original drops, kinda like how Bethesda started and finished Starfield even after Star Citizen had a 3+ year head start.
It's impossible, you need to be sufficiently autistic to start and not too autistic to finish, but those ranges do not overlap.
Yandere School is the only finished attempt, and that's because it was made as a cashgrab when Yandere Simulator was still relevant.

Nope, because the concept is broken on a fundamental level, it's been discussed dozens of times already. You need to either take it as barebones "there is a school where a psycho girl kills other girls to get to her crush" and add things that actually work or just downgrade it to the point where it's impossible to fail. Don't forget that making games is not fun, like at all, so people who try to speedrun the development on their excitement alone, will quickly realize that it's not enough, you need dedication. And I would really hate to see a bunch of people with experience, skills and dedication wasting their time on some weeb Columbine simulator, when we barely get any good games every year.

Nope, no chance. We already know what kind of audiences yansim attracts; young, edgy teens who wanna make a clone/fangame quickly and lack any consistency or real motivation to finish the job, we have a long, proven track record of failures and drama stemming from development issues, not to mention that they can't manage teams at that young of an age and often hire "volunteers" for free labor.
And just like what Juan said, it's also a waste to see actual talented young people waste their time into making a yansim offshoot, when they could use it on something else, like idk an original indie game or something. (gonna be 3 years since love letter went about, how time flies)

Someone tried! The game was called Love Letter: My True Feelings and was developed to be basically the same but made by someone who actually knows how to create games.. however..

"The game was cancelled after controversy had arisen within the Love Letter Team, with a lot of the drama surrounding DrApeis. Allegations of grooming and sexual harassment were made against DrApeis, causing them to cancel the project. Though DrApeis claims that he canceled it because it affected his mental health.

Before this, the developer of Yandere Simulator had attempted to get the development team to cancel the project, harassing the team and even threatening suicide should the game remain in development."

Call me shocked!

I'm sure this has been shared in the thread at this point and it won't provide Yanderedev veterans any new information, but for newer observers, there have genuinely been so many failed attempts at Yandere Simulator clones that this dude made an hour long video covering every single one of them up to a year ago:

Same point though, ultimately it won't happen because anyone dumb or impulsive enough to try to make a videogame just to prove something is going to be too dumb and impulsive to finish a game, even ignoring the difficult concept. Plus you can't get more than one idiot on the internet together without them breaking down into trashy, petty drama.
