Bakhmut's situation is deeply problematic, I wouldn't put my arguing coins on it. I doubt it will last more than a week, maybe 2, but that's highly optimistic.
Plus it's always, no exceptions, dumb to fight wars of attrition with larger forces, especially ones that can send packs of convicts that get shot in the back of the head if they try to run or fail to fight at the needed intensity against you.

I was a tanker. Ultimately became a commander on an M1A1 Abrams. I was also a transition instructor getting crews of the M60A3 and earlier Abrams models up to speed on the M1A1.

The Abrams is incredibly complex and even experienced tank crews require extensive training to safely and effectively operate the M1A1. You cannot simply "figure out how to use them in a day".

Yeah I got tired of all the tank talk here so I asked a coworker, a tank guy that served from 81 through the 90s and he told me six months to a year for a crew to learn the tank and after that you can start getting good at actually using the thing in combat without getting blown up by a helicopter or stuck in a ditch.

After that he also said "this is about Ukraine isn't it?" and joked that Putin isn't going to appreciate the tank donations.
