People confuse heart attack and cardiac arrest all the time. I truly wonder what happened but I don’t think Jack is going to come back. Look at Damar Hamlin. My theory is that he went into cardiac arrest from commotio cordis. Hit the beset just right in the beat cycle and boom, CA.

Dude was healthy and even he still needs oxygen. A person like Jack with a multitude of problems is not one to just get better.
Think of all of his co-morbidities. Do you honestly think he was actually keeping up with his diabetes? Dude probably came in with a sugar over 500 from eating too many Culver's concrete shakes on top of everything else.

I'm not sure how it works, but if he's still alive hours after a heart attack (even if in ICU) doesn't that mean he has a drastically improved prognosis for survival? I'm not saying recovery wouldn't be a long and arduous process or that he won't be even more susceptible to future health issues, but it seems to me that if they've got him hooked up to machines and being monitored then it's likely the worst has passed for this particular heart attack as it's under control.

We may yet see him under cook food for our amusement and I really hope we get that chance. But I'm not a doctor and he might be passing on Aunt Myrna's most secret recipe's to his next of kin as we speak as he gets ready to give Jesus salmonella in the after life.
largely impossible to tell from the outside. Critical medical treatment has gotten very good at keeping people barely alive. The idea is that you keep someone's vital organs working just long enough for treatment of the underlying condition to work or for the condition to pass but sometimes- maybe even often- it just ends up keeping someone technically alive until either they pull the plug or everything decompensates past the point that can be dealt with. Especially if it's someone with multiple comorbidities.

Someone can have a heart that is so fucked that they won't be able to stand up but they can be 'alive' on 4 vasopressors to keep their blood pressure above zero for quite some time. Then, because those medications fuck with blood flow (to keep organs working), little piggly wigglies leave for market forever (extremities start dying). Then the kidneys shit the bed because, hey, who needs those? More major medical interventions come into play. No way of leaving the hospital, no chance of a transplant, better to load up on morphine and ativan at that point.

Or- maybe he makes it through with a ticking time bomb and the ICU is out of an abundance of concern.

Oh God, what if we get another scenario like the British bitch who wouldn't take her kid off life support for months despite his body physically rotting? Would TamHam be the type to do that?

The family should apply the same logic they do for their pets, just let them die when it gets too expensive. Hope is gonna get her namesake soon enough.

Im also laughing at how he has neglected himself so long, especially with his dead arm. After deciding it wasnt worth the physical effort and money he just begged and declared God would take care of it. Well God did take care of Jacks failing health, just not in the way Jack expected it to and probably oblivious to as he was with all the other warning signs.

Are we sure its Jack thats hospitalized? In this she refers to the person in the hospital as "Glenn", unless its somehow a typo?? Or more than one person was struck with a medical emergency
This whole family looks so collectively unhealthy that it's entirely possible that more than one is hospitalized at a time.

It does look like he is goin down this time. Son writing "death bed" and inlaws posting those FB messages does make it seem like the doctors have notified them that the end is nigh. You dont use "death bed" unless youre 99% certain of death.

Sure, but consider the source: an Instagram post from a weed-addled burnout (and a Scalfani at that), containing third-hand information in an emotionally difficult situation. Garrett could have been told “ICU” and in his mind that means Jack's as good as dead, when maybe Jack is actually stabilizing and under monitoring. As such I'm not putting too much weight (heh) in the "death bed" comment right now, unless we get a similarly grave update from someone in the room with Jack.

I don't have FB. Does she normally spam this boomer junk or is this really for the occasion?
She does post a lot of Christian stuff but it seems like she's been going harder on it today than usual.

Jack was the man who brought me to these forums. Looking back at everything, I just can't fathom how long he has lasted. When I first read through this thread I thought he would be gone in 8 ish months tops, and then I would get bored and never log in again. How wrong I was.

Not only would I miss his videos, but I really want to see him cope and blame some random dietary component while finding ways to claim even bigger mountains of cheese are healthy.
