Xbox introduces default remote shut down in consoles to fight climate change - We not only hold ourselves accountable to the carbon emissions... but to the emissions created with the use of our products in the homes of our fans

You're complaining about a non-issue. I'm not simping for Microsoft, I'm saying you're whining about an optional feature you can turn off. If you read the fucking article that was linked on Page 1 you would know this. I swear the average fucking IQ of this website is 65
Well here's a site where you would fit better https://www.reddit.com
For now, I don't see anything wrong with an option for energy-efficient consumption on a console. We'll see what happens.
We already know what will happens

Looks like we have a few people in this thread that want to be the Microsoft version of Marissa Moira
did you delete tagging me? lmao

Now that takes some balls kid, but if you really want to show who's boss, point out in the article where they said they're putting a killswitch in to really stick it to me
FFS you know why progressives are insufferable? Because if I want to say I like orange juice, it's SEXIST! RACIST! TRANSPHOBE! IMPERIALIST!
Now when I'm trying to say I like orange juice, precisely how is it not annoying to hear SOY! WOKE! GROOMER! GLOBALIST!

Same room temperature retardation, nigger I just want to sip some OJ. Microsoft can be (and is) a shit company even if you actually read the article and realize all they're doing is a marketing stunt while putting in basic power consumption optimization. Optimization that would've been in there at launch if it hadn't been a shit product rushed to market.

Honestly, good to hear it's basic bitch optimization. Had me worried for PC gaming.

I legit want to know who's still buying an XBOX in 20fucking23. Not because 'soney better', but because they put all of their games on PC anyways. There is literally no reason not to get a PC over an XBox.

Seems like a common sense way to extend the life of the console and save a few bucks on your energy bill. You bought a console, you're always going to be subject to the policies of the monopolistic entity that produced it. You want full control build a PC and install linux or some shit.

And then enjoy the fact that Intel is probably building in ring 0 rootkits into every CPU that comes out in the future, and if they can't do that, on the motherboard. At this date, even your physical hardware is compromised from birth.

Price of entry is $250. Most games coming out still run on the Series S. Plus, if all your friends are on Xbox Live, that's how to play with them.

I know you're just asking this so you can sperg out about how you can get a better PC for $99 by sniping ebay deals. But that's why.

Jamal can plop down his Burger King paycheck for a Series S and Niggaball 2024, plug it into his $200 Walmart Black Friday TV, and he's good to go. Jamal only wants to play Niggaball on Xbox Live with his friends Dor'ito and Vajayjay. Jamal does not understand what a file system is.

Fuck no I can't. I'm way too fucking computer illiterate for that. (For now) Not to mention lazy to snipe ebay deals. (Forever)

But I also know what future proofing is, and know that an extra 100-150 now keeps me from chasing the next number box, which will be, at best, 250, but most likely, 400.

You're not getting a future-proof gaming PC for $350. Given how long console generations last, If your mom buys you a Series S right now, you aren't like going to have beg her for a replacement until around 2028, maybe even 2030, at which point you should be an adult with big boy money and can buy what you want.

Price of entry for a new-in-box gaming PC is $400-500, and that's "new" in name only - the CPUs and GPUs are going to be surplus from as much as 10 years ago, and everything else is shitbox-tier junk made and assembled in China. Something you can still game on in 10 years is going to cost north of $1000, but if you have $1000 to spend on toys, you're not doing this to save money.

Its fairly common in some Asian countries like Korea and China for there to be a legally set limit on how long you can game and when you can play games. With the west increasingly trying to become China but for gay black people, I would expect similar things to pop up eventually, but for climate reasons as the excuse instead of health or productivity. Sorry peasant, your factorio save is killing the planet, had to shut off your electricity. Posted from my personal jet

And likewise, I don't want to waste time fixing issues for something that SHOULD work straight out of the box, but doesn't because Linux is "open source" so any faggot can jack around with the code.
wait, you use a mac? because I can tell you from experience windows is far from working "straight out of the box".

You make good points but also sound like a huge faggot in the way you go about making them
just bantz, after decades of suffering MS' bullshit you either take it with a laugh or a bullet.

most people don't give a shit about the climate, while asians tend to give at least some shit about their country and society. while they both try to shove something down your throat "for the greater good", it doesn't really work if it has no foundation.

Oh fuck no. Macs are good for expensive target practice.
Also, Linux fag saying "windows is far from working straight out of the box" is rich, given Linux distros only "work" if you don't value your time and are willing to waste days/weeks "setting it up" (AKA fixing shit that doesn't work).

Meanwhile my Windows machine took less than 30 minutes.

tell me you never have installed linux without telling me you never have installed linux.

here's a challenge: install windows in 30 minutes without network or internet access, go!
hard mode: while keeping all your programs and settings.

That's exactly how I got it installed on this machine, dumbass.

Here's a challenge for any linuxfag: Explain why Linux is superior without disparaging Windows or using total non-arguments like "Linux doesn't get viruses!". Also make sure to NOT go full Faggot Geek with it, keep the terms simple and easy to understand. And finally, make sure it'll work JUST LIKE Windows, so no "open the super special command prompt to convert an .exe to a special Linux-friendly format!", if it can't be like Windows without Micro$oft bullshit, it's a no go!

Wait, you can't do any of that? This is why Linux will forever remain niche as hell, cope and seethe.

Was it the pre-setup OEM version that came with the machine?

I takes me half a day to download and install all the fucking drivers with a vanilla Windows and rebooting it a million times.
Even the most basic things like Ethernet and USB 3.0 controllers don't work out of the box. It's painful.

I have never had issues like this with my machine, unless we're talking modding games, then it's painful as shit. Or trying to run older games.
