One thing to note is if the alternative ending and text logs they hand to you after you beat the game is anything to consider, I definitely see EA doing a remake of 2 after this, one of the text logs is dedicated to talking about the Sprawl. Would be much harder sell for me considering DS2 holds up even better than DS1 does, and also DS2 doesn't have an extremely shitty PC port like DS1.

I'm willing to give this a shot, but I'm not interested in paying $70 for it. Gonna have to wait for a discount, or maybe find it as a GameStop rental.

Even as someone who really enjoyed it this is what I recommend as if you played the OG and still familiar with it. Not the Remake's fault by itself, it's just that these near 1:1 remakes are just better graphics, a good amount of QoL features thrown in, and some extra miscellaneous things.

Looking into getting this. The woke changes? Meh. Doesn't matter if Kendra is a lesbian as long as she's still a dead lesbian by the end. Same with the blackwashed crew member (why even do that? Hammond's one of the more capable NPCs in the original story who tries to keep things on track, he was the best "representation" they could ask for).

If anybody's wanting to just run through the game once or twice, it's apparantly part of EA's "Play Pro" subscription thing, which I hadn't heard of until yesterday. Normally, I'm not a big fan of subscription model stuff for games, but it's $15 for a month instead of $60 (or $70, since I guess it comes with the deluxe edition things). I guess you could think of it like renting the game. Outside of maybe key resellers (or some things letting you get Denuvo tokens alongside torrenting clean files), might be the cheapest option.

Im glad the remake isnt trash but Im wary that this maybe isnt a honey moon period because we are just that fucking glad the remake isnt hot EA trash and its flaws wont become more apparent with more further playthroughs. Also I want a better discount because fuck you if I will pay full price for this.

Also I dont like that people say this "replaces" the original, I really wouldnt go that far since the original is still an "important" game for gaming history in my opinion. Its the same thing with REmake to me, its a nearly perfect remake but I still recommend people play the original first to truly appreciate what it did to gaming and the improvements the remake does bring to the table.

Oh well, I guess I should just be fucking glad EA didnt do what many are doing these days and removing the original altogether from stores because "you wont need of that pesky original anymore" like Rockstar did with the original port of the 3D GTAs (and only "half" gave in by only making them available again in their own launcher. Tiedemann was an antagonist but hardly a villain. He was the one that allowed them to experiment and create that big ass marker from Isaac's mind in the Sprawl against his better judgement but once shit starts to hit the fan, he does against the orders of his superiors and orders an immediate evacuation of the whole place and his attempts to stop Isaac had legit good intentions as to avoid a convergence event. He was legit trying to fix the mess he contributed in creating and to save as many as he could. Killing Isaac to him was just a necessary sacrifice to keep this shit from getting worse (which does once Isaac reaches the Marker, even if he is able to fight it off and stop the event).

He is legit a good man that made bad decisions with the Sprawl in mind and wants badly to make up for them before they cause more mayhem.

You get to know more about him in the spin off books and games like Dead Space Mobile

He is legit one of the most three dimensional antagonists in gaming to me.

I wouldn't necessarily say he's a good man; either that or he fell off the rails right at the end where he says something like, "That Marker is worth every life we just lost! I won't let you take that away!" Other than that though, he's obviously battling between his duties as a Director and the vastly unethical shit he did to get that Marker built. I guess he can be forgiven for a little bit of madness when he's been in the Marker's company since its conception.

The decision to make marker testlabs offworld was not Tiedemann's decision. It was his higher ups back at Earthgov. Isaac would have probably understood the situation a hell of a lot more if he just said "if you destroy the marker, the markerheads back home are ready to launch a full scale jihad and send us back into the stone age back home and across every colony we have." It also would have made the beginning of Dead Space 3 make a hell of a lot more sense than being a random COD intro.

He was more than a fair antagonist because in the mobile game, he gave Vandal tasks to help clean up the mess she set off. The unitologists orchestrated the necromorph outbreak.

I think it's okay to complain because if not for certain changes this could be the objectively best way to experience the Dead Space storyline, but instead good gameplay has to be dragged down by current year faggotry.
