I'm not impressed by quantity anyone can throw words together. Is the dialogue still cliched, the plot stolen from other books/movies, and the characters unlikable sociopaths?
The dialogue could be worked on. Something about this new first chapter gave me the chills though. I actually got into the shoes of Eva and Holden.

Sure you are.

Gotta ask though, why did you drop The Shining 200 pages in and just go off and start reading something else?
I'm kind of scatterbrained. I jump from one book to the next. Read a bit of one, do the same for another.

What about Master of Disguise? Why do you dislike it so much?
I think a lot of people hate Master of Disguise. It has a 1% on Rotten Tomatoes, if I remember correctly. I actually had this piece of shit on DVD as a child, and even then I thought it was utterly puerile and intelligence-insulting. I think Dana Carvey is a fine comedian, but really, there's no excuse for this.

But you claim the movie has haunted you since childhood. So, what gives?
Looking back at Master of Disguise, I cringe. Elementary school kids normally don't have the best cinematic tastes, and I'm guilty of that. I've seen my fair share of tripe, but Master of Disguise was so unfunny, so annoying, so devoid of anything resembling entertainment that it left a negative impression on me. It's in my top ten most hated movies. BTW, Juno isn't on the list. It was a good movie, I thought, but I don't see what was so special about it. It may have been well-intentioned, but it wasn't without its faults. I'd watch it over Master of Disguise any day of the fucking week.

Do you watch any good movies? Do you like any genres? Do you watch any movies ever because you bring up the same 5 all the time?

Connor, let's play a game. It's called "Why is this a bad post even though everything I said in it was technically accurate?"

You win when you can answer that question.

Your prize will be a single step on the path back from cowhood.

We can only show you that path, Connor. You have to walk it.

I don't believe I answered the question directly.

For the record:
Current word count of RE second draft: 1759 words, first chapter. I have passed my two courses this semester with perfect or near-perfect scores on finals. I'm taking a break during the summer to write, get back in shape, and help my father out.
Have you considered working part time at Publix or Trader Joe's?

For reference, Connor spent five years yelling about Juno despite never actually watching the 96min film. I have strong suspicions about him finishing The Shining the movie, let alone the book.

But let's talk for a second about his hatred for Master of Disguise.

Why does he have a hatred for Master of Diguise?

@Connor Bible are you being serious right now? Come back to your thread and explain what happened to you during Master of Disguise.

What's the matter Connor? Are you not turtley enough for the turtle club?

I've thought about working part-time at Publix, but I've heard a lot of negative talk about the work environment from FB friends. My best friend IRL got a job tryout at a Piggly Wiggly, and I can tell you he isn't acclimating well. Most of the kids who graduated high school with me are in the position of looking for suitable jobs while pursuing further education and staying with their families. My own mother has been looking for a job for the past year, with little success. To put it succinctly, there aren't many options out there.
