This is typical spousal abuse, we'll get several episodes like these, then Ralph will be the best he's ever been (which the bar is set extremely low) only to gaslight her and become more and more violent. It'll be worse for Meigh specially if they live in a different country as she'll feel she won't have anywhere to run to. There were domestic violence shelters in Mexico but Meigh won't feel safe using them because of the language barrier.

There are ONG' she could turn up to but the language barrier and Ralph controlling all her means of communication would make it really hard. I really hope she's made aware of this somehow. And takes her chance to escape, but i'll be better if she makes a run for it on US soil.

Beyond the trashfire whitetrash entertainment this situation is very sad and worrying.

I wouldn't jump the gun just yet and wait for more info, if either Meigh is still with him or if Ralph is full of pigshit. If the former is actually true though and she doesn't gallop from the Gunt as fast as she can, she's beyond fucked and is ready for a world of hurt. It will get really nasty and she will remember this decision as her worst mistake of her life.
