The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

I think I've only seen her in some of the behind the scenes mocap. Damn she was a pretty girl. So young.

SF2 movie I don't know why I forgot it when I think it's the best adaption of a game ever made. The English dub is 10,000 times better than the Japanese because the OST is incredible.
90's anime dubs were great, and as a sub-fag I couldn't even say why. maybe the perfect mix of effort and ham.

/v/ types really bashed it even back then because it was already unhip for a game to really emphasize story and got so much praise therefore people had to be contrarians.
it got bashed because it was mostly following uncharted design beats, when it was mentioned at all. usually there was something else to be outraged about.
still nothing on the level of todays snoy movie game disdain tho.

They tripled down hard on the Bill being gay thing in the show.Because they need to make it very very clear how gay he is, you see. Very important.
They also made it kinda fucked up. In the original story in the game Frank leaves Bill because he wants to leave town while Bill goes full prepper mode. Frank tries to repair a car but gets himself infected as a result of being alone. Not wanting to become an infected he kills himself and writes an angry note to Bill blaming him for his death. It's tragic and poignant.

In the show Frank wants to die because of cancer. And both he and Bill MAID themselves so they can die together. It's melodramatic and goes against Bill's original character trait as a survivor.

Also lol

I’ll give the show this: after being absolutely sick of TLOU in general after the sequel and constantly being told I had to love it and so on, it’s managed to make me appreciate the storytelling in the original game. Stuff like Tess’s death and Bill we’re done way better and with more nuance than this shove it in your face “DO YOU GET WHAT WE ARE SAYING? ISN'T THIS SAD AND TRAGIC?” crap the show seems to be going for.

With how they spent 90% of an episode on what could have gotten across in 30 seconds, anybody have theories on how else they're going to waste obscene amounts of time? Personally, I'm hoping that an episode is spent on the fat injuns and how they've managed to keep a McD's fully operational for 20 years.

Still not over Part 2. I remember, I wanted to get a collectors edition. Sold out. Oh well, got the deluxe online version. I remember being excited as fuck, what could the next chapter be? The combat looked sick and I watched that trailer showing Ellie killing brown coats with the brutal machete and I was in love. Anyway, the game boots up, I get a screenshot, 12:01. Spoiler I played until Joel died. then I put the game down that night and went to bed assess. What happened was a shitty revenge mission where you are given zero choice in how to fight or if you kill or not, and the game assblasting you for killing. The potential. The potential.

I should get my thoughts organized, but the insistence on ‘only hostile factions’ inconsistent world vs part 1 (Pittsburg is hunters and desperate for supplies that they kill random people and steal their shoes, but Washington is a flush with supplies, with the stadium housing fucking CATTLE, in the middle of the city) I mean, the hardware store near one the stadium that Abby goes through should have been looted, first thing. The entire building is FILLED with planks and assumingly nails. HOW?????!? Don’t get me started on the factions, the WLF are... fine I guess, but the scars? Why don’t they piss off to their island and leave the mainland alone? There is no answer except for a fucking single piece of dialogue that says the scars wanna tear down the concrete and start a forest... also. How can those ‘brutes’ shrug off a fucking 9mm Bullet to the head? Never explained.

I just can’t man

Bill was the only homo shit in the original as Riley was ambiguous if they were even a girl before the DLC. And even then with Bill, they didn't draw so much attention to it when you found it out. I'm sure that was a Druckmann decision to make him a fag and it made it in to the game. He had full control over the DLC so of course Riley is both a POC and a dyke.

In perfect timing, twitter is already labeling everyone homophobes for not seeing the NECCESITY of bills 60 minute gayscapades. Me personally, I did laugh at the comparison; that essentially an hour long, built up gay lovefest is the actual in world equivalent (and has the same rammifications) of Joel finding a set of keys and driving away. They hold the same value. Based imo.

But holy shit, I really do hope this is one and done. If I found out next week that Joel has been secretly carrying one of bills "gun, bullets, and bears" magazines since they left, followed by a scene where ellie finds out and has to have the "it's ok to be gay during the zombie apocalypse" talk with him,... im gonna turn that shit off and watch yellowstone reruns in protest.

i cant really edit quotes into posts so accept this double post instead

to which i say that is incorrect (timestamp 7:45 in)
does say she's a best friend tho which is the closest you get to being right

I forgot she genders her there. But even still, it's not implied at all they were lezzing out. But of course Druckmann had to subvert that.

It's not like today, yeah, but it was never a popular game on there.

People started getting assblasted about story in games around the time David Cage started really running his mouth, the last time I remember /v/ giving a shit about a game's story was RDR1 and New Vegas.

Irony is at least back then the stories weren't Woke, if only they knew how good they still had it.

It'd be nice if people do start to appreciate the original game more.

I think pretty much everyone can agree it's better than what came after.

I do remember some people saying her indifference to the nude men magazine implied she was gay, I can't remember if that was before or after the DLC, but it's possible people were already theorizing she was gay before then.

Even in 2013 there was already a shift in attitude happening where people wanted more gay characters in games, it was the year of Gone Home after all, Bill got praise.
