The Last of Us Tv Show - Anyone saw this?

I didn't play the game, but I did watch my husband play it a bit when it first came out. He was keen to watch the show so I thought "maybe I'll enjoy it more like this. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" Admittedly I DID enjoy the first half of episode 1 but other than that it was just boring. I've had enough of zombies and post-apocolypse drama, and I honestly do not get what makes TLOU so fucking special. Game-wise and story-wise it's a solid "not terrible", so I really don't understand the hype. Why, of all franchises, does this get multiple remasters, DLC, a sequel and now a whole TV show? Sad!

The man behind the game didn't like it that other men and women were responsible for the 2013 game being good.

Bruce Straley & Amy Henning "soiled" his vision of a game.

Sequel, Re-Remake and TV Show are entirely his vision with Mazinger sharing said vision.

I want a show about Fat Geralt and the boys doing their thing and punching trannies.

But in all seriousness whoever they cast in that role is going to become instantly beloved by viewers around the world.

Anyone that believes /v/ about anything is a fucking retard too. The first game is great. The second one is divisive for really dumb reasons and I pity everyone who hateplayed it just to nitpick every single fucking thing after the tranny thing turned out to be bullshit.
I didn't need /v/ to help me form an opinion on Sony's interactive movies, sorry, games. And both TLOU entries were dogshit, making people like you seethe by talking about it is just a bonus.

You being a retard isn't the same thing as other people being mad. It would be fantastic if retards in general could learn to make this distinction.

>gets visibly mad over me calling his favorite gaymes shit
>n-n-no I'm not mad, you're just r-retarded
Oh no you defaulted to "u mad" again, what a battle of wits this is.

The seething is over TLOU, clearly. I'm saying that's fucking stupid. You're both retarded and mad. I'm merely informative.

Never played the game, no desire to after seeing how pozzed the DLC and especially the sequel were like,b but ngl the first half of the first episode was great, and the second episode as a whole too.

Yeah, the girl looks weird with her forehead, but when she was playing in the hotel with the piano and asking for a room and shit it was kind of cute, it did feel like she was just being a kid goofing around not taking things too seriously, it was a nice moment

I thought they were gonna keep Anna Torv way longer, but I guess that Fringe was so long ago she's not a big name anymore.

I just hope it doesn't go to shit too fast, but yeah it's a good walking dead replacement so far
As I understand it, TLOU doesn't get nearly as bad as Walking Dead ever.

But yeah, I totally agree with the people saying it was overhyped and built to be a movie anyways, so a faithful adaptation was straightforward work.

It came out during peak "games are art", it was very pretty with good presentation with a gameplay loop I despised and a narrative that was the usual "zombies, but humanity is da real monstah!". But it managed to stick the landing with the Joel and Ellie estranged daughter dynamic and it came at a time where most games selling themselves as art were fucking walking simulators with no gameplay.

The game could also almost play itself or be ballbusting depending on dificulty so the journos couñd get through it quick and focus on the pretty and the gamers that actually liked playing it could get good use out of it. Also, the multiplayer was surprisibgly good from what I've heard, though it feels to me kind of like Goldeneye multiplayer where "you had to be there to get it".

So that's why everyone felates 1 (to my bafflement). Everything that came after that was Cuckman tardraging at being free from the tardwrangler to do what he wanted. And since the sequel had the goodwill from 1 and it became another culture war front due to it's faggy representation (even though it shits hard on the characters people liked from 1), well, it gets to stay on the spotlight.

Finally, since Naughty Dog is basically a corpse, they have lost a lot of the people that did the classics, including the ones that allowed TLoU to be competent in the first place. So Cuckman only rehashes what he knows since they don't really have anything else in there.

I really cannot believe they managed to waste an entire episode to an ancillary character that you found out was gay via letters in the video game. I mean, I totally believe it but come the fuck on. I have actually liked the show up until this point and the moment Bill made his appearance, I just knew it was going to be taken to extremes. Really didn’t need to sit through manbabby’s first gay encounter, but what to expect from modern media?

I hate how they bungled the end of that episode too. Frank hung himself after being bitten because he didn’t want to get infected, or spread it. He ran from Bill. Bill survived for many years on his own with his own thoughts that tore at him. That’s character building, and the character didn’t even exist beyond a few lines of text. Not gay enough for 2023.

One of the best things about the first game was the sense of hopelessness it conveyed. The show isn’t really giving me the impression that this version of earth is all of that terrifying or that things are that bleak at all. Gay couple apparently has unlimited munitions, and are afforded the luxury of steak and wine on any given whim. Even during the only tense moment of that episode when the raiders attacked, I guess, the episode was too focused on being gay, the only reason Bill was harmed was because gay man Frank tried to intervene, did fuck all, and got shot in the gunt.

Apparently, fags really need to see physical action on the screen to know that two characters have some sort of emotional bond. It’s not part of the character either, that’s bullshit. Bill is a boomer survivalist and even though, yeah, game lore established he is a fag, I’m so sure that this guy would completely open himself up to someone just because they complimented his ability to cook, and some sucky piano playing. He had been isolated for several years when they first met. Handle every poorly.

Joel didn’t need to constantly grope or shove his tongue down Tess’ throat to establish their relationship (they did they fetish style with an infected in the previous episode - lmfao). It’s all show for these people so they can edge themselves off, and then post about how seen they feel on social media so the media giants, and the fags, both receive their good boy points.
Can’t wait to see how many episodes are dedicated to Ellie’s encounter with the pedophile, and how they’ll try to spin that into a positive, or misunderstanding.

It definitely doesn't. The whole pandemic in it is just a means to an end for Joel and Ellie's development basically. It's strongly written cover to cover. To me, it's the most important game to play of the 2010s.

Just don't bother with the pozzed remake where they fucked with everyone's faces and models beyond repair. Just grab the remastered version.

Glorified movie game that made popular glorified movie games in the same decade that Dark Souls came out to remind people that games should have actual gameplay and challenges. Lets say I heavily disagree.
I would say you have a case if the gameplay to cutscene ratio was unbalanced, but it isn't.

A movie game is MGS4.

Oh wow hope you have time to pause your exciting adventure in a post apocalyptic world so we can cover the most bland and generic gay romance.

I mean, seriously, if you take out the first 10ish minutes this episode isn't even the fucking Last of Us. It's completely cut out from the main plot. For what? To say the cheesiest gay romance story and have two old dudes fuck?

Shitty bait and switch.

I don't file walking while people talk to me as gameplay but I fully admit the gameplay loop never clicked with me and it definitely never got close to how insufferable Kojima games are. I still fail to see what made TLoU such a revolution to deserve it's status of "most important game early 2010s", yes, it had a competent script and very good presentation, but is that what we really aim for in the medium?

The Joel Ellie relation is good, but as far as I'm concerned that's all it has going for it and seeing how Ellie can spaz the fuck out during stealth moments, the clickers ignore her and can take bullets like a champ it doesn't even have the audacity to try and integrate the escort aspect into the gameplay (probably because like in RE4, unless it was perfect, players would have hated Ellie due to gameplay reasons, but they decided to divorce the narrative from the gameplay is another strike as far as I'm concerned, even if it was the safe pick).

It's a narrative driven game, just like Uncharted was at the time. What else did you expect from them? In game dialogue between characters people either love or hate. I like it since you're not strangling people with cutscenes the entire time.

I think the gameplay is great for the time. There's some weird vision bugs with some of the enemies but I appreciated how they would flank you which before that I cannot think of another enemy AI doing that.

It didn't just tell the story well, it solved a lot of design issues for narrative games (which doesn't seem interesting now, because it was so influential that some of them are old conventions at this point) and even featured subtle storytelling that's never exposited so a lot of halfwits still don't understand. This isn't revolutionary for films but it's very rare in games and idiots don't understand movies either, so I know bringing this up always results in morons flailing around and insisting there was nothing to get.

It's nothing on the scale of Kojima games having bullshit where you need to go full pepe silvia connecting obscure dots from across the whole series to get what's really going on but you can at least understand most people lacking the necessary autism when they argue about that dumb shit.

TLOU derangement syndrome has reached the point where we're complaining it opted not to include escort missions.

This is the thread for the TV show by the way. See what I mean?
