This has to be some kind of tour company grift.

Part of the $$$cost$$$ is paying the person at the tour company who put the itinerary together, the person who picks up the phone, etc. Then there's no way there's not going to be a local (or at least locally experienced) guide who does all the actual work on the ground. Then Sander himself probably gets a slice of the cheese.

But I don't know why they picked this guy to do a tour there. It seems like a very random location with a random influencer.

Forgive me for double posting, but I find it truly insane and it needs breaking down.

I'm not even including the "walking tours" as you can literally get free walking tours from poor History majors in basically all European cities, and you only need to give like 10€ afterwards to calm your conscience.

Hiking is also obviously free.

- Train from Naples to Sorrento: 5 to 8€.

- Bus from Sorrento to Positano: 11€.

- Ferry from Naples to Capri: 25€
- Double bedroom in a 4-star hotel in Naples: 83€ a night. Under 500€ for five nights.
- Average meal price in Naples: 12 to 30€. If you were to be dumb and spend 60€ a day on food, it would mean 360€ for six days, since a normal hotel includes breakfast.
- Bus to Pompeii: 3 to 6€.
- Guided visit to Pompeii: 40€.

- Bus to Mt Vesuvius: 10€
- Tour of Mt Vesuvius: 60€


Seriously. Even with a guide, that costs 200—300€ per day, if you split it among a 20 person group that's 15 € a day. For six days, 90€. Honestly, having a guide with you all day for six days is really unnecessary in a Western country where almost the whole local economy is oriented towards tourists. But OK, let's say they really need the guide. The trip as described wouldn't amount to much more than 1.000€, even with the wine tasting and the "pizza course", which are the typical activities a tour company gets for very cheap from friendly businesses in exchange for sending the gullible tourists their way.

How important does this idiot Sander think he is? Whoever goes on this trip honestly deserves to get scammed.

True, and you forgot the kind of discounts travel agencies get.

Which granted: Aren’t huge in a post booking.com world, but there’s a solid 10-25% savings there on both hotels and guided tours, etc. probably more on other things and on the lower end for something like a hotel in Italy in May.

For transportation Inreckon they’ll just hire a small bus and local driver which wouldn’t cost much.

They need to pay for an actual guide too, because Sander is a halfwit you wouldn’t trust to watch your dog without a checklist.

Aren’t there’s a cost for Sander too of course. I wouldn’t be surprised if they pay him 500$ a person or something and profit a solid 1000$ per person on this tour.

I just wonder if it ever crossed Sander’s mind that he could set something like this up HIMSELF, sell tickets for around 2500$ and still end up earning more. (While still having a guide do all the actual work and just take care of booking, getting quotes, etc.)

But… It probably hasn’t. That’s work after all, and work isn’t Sander’s strong side. He’s the funny TikTok guy who takes pictures and is an ally! That’s his wheelhouse.

Like I said earlier ITT, this sounds suspiciously similar to a trip that's being hosted by a TV/news personality from my state later this year. I doubt Sanders had anything to do with it logistically. I think there's some travel agency out there setting these things up and slapping influencers and media personalities on as "hosts."

It's not even really that. It's the potential for social media content and a couple dozen extra followers you wouldn't have had otherwise that's really being sold here. I know it seems impossible that there are people this desperate for scraps of attention, but it seems like every other retard thinks "influencer" is a sensible and worthwhile aspiration, usually since they already base their life around doing and saying whatever will generate a favorable response on social media for free. Sander's presence is something people suffer through rather than seek out willingly, even he probably knows it, so this scam is meant to exploit retards who think they're just a little exposure away from becoming an "influencer" in order to pay his rent. It's also probably the only way he can get a bunch of very cool and image-conscious people to hang out with him and post the photos to prove it. To me it seems like a blatant unsophisticated scam and I'd expect someone with a literal masters' degree in capitalizing off social media to come up with something better, but it's not news that he's retarded.
