I prefer to avoid posting in this thread and lurk, but I can provide a bit more insight of the situation now that it's been cooled off and resolved.
/asp/ (Aspiring vTubers) thread has a bit of a reputation for housing anons that frankly would warrant future lolcow watch threads if they ever managed to actually become more than mere 2views. They won't however, due to the fact that most are socially inept and emotional wrecks that flounder under the pressure of committing to streaming. Alas /asp/ and it's affiliated Discord (riddled with all the atypical online degenerate combinations you should expect) has become yet another breeding ground of vtweeter types who spend more time prepping for hypotheticals than actually going live. The thread has attempted various offshoots too, in an effort to platform certain names still attached to the place and shake off the stink that is being an /asp/ie. The most notable being /mvp/ (Male Vtuber Posting) which for whatever reason has a rule stating that trans (of all labels) streamers count as male too. I guess in a false effort to pray people join in on the posting. Self-pity parties, the best kind.
Naturally the problems with them intermixing with /flaVR/ first arose when one apparent anon stepped forward to audition for a role. While the vetting system is typically a first-come, first serve type deal with FlaVR; they will also request a vocaroo and your intentions for the A.I generated character. In this instance; it was a male from Germany. He claimed he was merely a curious anon and wanted to get involved. Hours later, two female anons applied to be in the same "wave" as him and since they vouched for the guy, it seemed like a done deal to have all three included. While most of the FlaVR anons argued amongst one another if adding a male would defy Pippa's wishes, another situation was about to arise.
Enter the /asp/ies. See, the ol' anons at /asp/ have a crabs in bucket like mentality and anyone seeking success without them must suffer. Various /asp/ies came forward, showcasing that the German wasn't a mere "anon" but rather a regular of theirs who had a bit of substance problem, liked underaged girls and had apparently groomed one of the two girls who also auditioned into being his girlfriend from the said /asp/ Discord. Links to the vTuber personas got shared and various alibies didn't match up afterward, when it turned out the girls also used /asp/
This transpired into a borderline witch hunt to remove the /asp/ies from the project and maintain a "pure vision that Pippa would have approved" or some nonsense.
Yes, this is all as autistic as it sounds. But as funny as the corporate stuff is from time to time, we must remember that petty absurdity is happening constantly in the indie space of vTubing.
