Ironically the only person really in a moral position to criticize the dude (other than the mild tackiness of it) is someone who is charitable without boasting about it. John, who has never done the right thing, is in no position to criticize someone who did the right thing for the wrong reason.

Almost anyone who gives to charity also deducts it on their taxes. Are they bad, too? My opinion is basically "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's." But not a penny more.

I don't really know anything about mrbeast, but I'm guessing John wants to start some kind of vendetta to get back into the spotlight. So far his track record is 0-2 after his failure with Destiny. Left hand, right hand, I'm not a christian but that part makes a lot of sense to me. That's where the tax deductions for charity vanities becomes silly in my opinion... If someone really rich wants to give a lot to charity, the same way a regular person sticks a 20 or a hundo into a jar, then please do so out of the goodness of your heart. We don't, can't and won't deduct it.

If anyone here sees themselves as a good person and helps people/strangers regularly in some way. Never mention it, never talk about it, keep it to yourself. Do it for a couple of years and you will find a peace you can never imagine.

I think the tax deduction encourages people to use their charity money more intelligently than the government does, and it would be hard to use it worse. I actually think some things deserve an outright tax credit where spending money on something particularly benevolent should count dollar for dollar as paid taxes, instead of just being deducted from taxable income.
