I don't get why DeSantis isn't smart enough to just clarify he isn't running. Unless he is being used to distract Trump from the real rino candidate.

There's a reason he's not at this point, it's not stupidity. We don't have a clear enough picture to guess at the reason yet though. Could be anything from n-th dimensional chess to draw the heat to him actually just keeping his option open to run.

He very likely does want to run. The establishment already has been funding him to the point to where he raised more than twice what Trump did off small donors. So big money interests want DeSantis in and you have a variety of neocons and basic bitches promoting the hell out of him.
We have a year before the Republican primaries start and between now and then we'll be having DeSantis and his various pseudo-surrogates attacking Trump and promoting DeSantis as the second coming of McCain.

Also in recent years it's been shown there's little reason to ever debate anyone nor interact with any opposition under any circumstances. Alexi Cortez would never appear on Tucker's show because she's show how she's a blubbering moron, so it's genuinely just a decent idea to avoid anyone that could ever disagree with you or point out your flaws and instead just stick to your echo chambers.
There's been a variety of people that have tried interviewing DeSantis at one time or another who could just ask "are you running" and they chose not to, because they've typically been friendly towards him. He's not going to start doing interviews with people that could be 1% hostile towards him.

Oh, and bonus: If they don't go out of their way to brain damage the AI to make it a far lefty thinkbot, every single time so far it's become right wing. Judging from the drama over Stable Diffusion and NSFW content I think it's pretty clear once the genie is out of the bottle it's not going back in again.
SD tried really hard to prune nudes and celebrity images from their official 2.0 release, so 90% of the community just stays on 1.4. Check out http://civitai.com and filter by NSFW to see the ridiculous number of porn embeddings and models the community's come up with in just a couple months.
We can't run the text models on consumer cards yet but the jump from diffusers being something you needed server-grade hardware from to something that will run on high-end gpus to lol you're good with a gtx1070 (yeah, really. it's very slow but it runs) was about 5 months, and I'm sure once text models start getting shared the moral puritans will react in the same way they did to the lewd SD models : absolutely furious bedwetting and nothing else because as dumb as they are even they recognize that once the tech to train the model is out there you can't really stop people from slapping in whatever they want.

So in that case it's only a matter of maybe a decade give or take before we all have autistic savant personal assistants everywhere to collate data for us and modkits associated with them. If that's true then all the assholes who will try to program this shit to do something stupid with diversity bullshit will be irrelevant anyway. Remember, the reason corporations signed on to this bullshit is because a) it helps redirect civil unrest and b) it keeps the banks and ESG people happy. But right now, the civil unrest is slowly eroding their power anyway and the banks are getting into a shitty situation too because we have a full blown depression coming. There's no guarantee of any positive change but it's not off the cards either.

Well, start by getting funding. A lot of funding. $500,000+ or so, just to start? Maybe a lot more? Probably a shitload more. Then hire experts in the field. Experts that either are ideologically compromised already, or would be ending their careers by working with you. Then try working on non-cucked AI while the entirety of the tech industry, media sphere, banking cartels try and stop you, get your people to quit, get your data center to cancel you, go after your families, et cetera.
The ChatGPT guys have said for $55 million they could feed the entire Internet into their system and have it be at least a passible expert in every field that has ever published any data online. And the lefties want to modify this system so it's ideologically lockstep with Cultural-Marxist theory.
Um, I don't even use a video card. Turns out SD requires Cuda cores -- which means Nvidia only. Team Red need not apply. Whoops. And even I can generate some decent animu images on my ancient 3700X. Takes about 5-10 minutes per image, which is tolerable. I'm guessing if I had a Nvidia card it'd be generating a lot faster, however, but I don't know what I'm missing out on.
I don't use Stable Diffusion 2.0 or even 1.4. The data packs I've been using is Abyss Orange Mix 2 and AnythingV4 and the Stable Diffusion WebUI. Not to derail, but forget NSFW -- if you look into SD 2.0, it turns out Wizards of the Coast sent them a C&D or something, because every artist who has ever worked on a MTG card is now blacklisted. This is the new frontier, of assmad artists who don't understand the tech at all demanding we hobble AI to protect their ability to draw white women buying wonder bread.
It's all echoes of a year or two ago when every lefty and their mother became instant experts on Blockchain and demanded managerial oversite over the entire tech industry because as strident users of Twitter, they know tech better than a bunch of icky white men.
