Red #40 and Yellow #5 are both part of the same family of food dyes (and both are petroleum based iirc). Mellow Yellow is colored with Yellow #5 and Jimmy Dean's Breakfast Bowls (as already pointed out) contains Red #40. other than Red #40 typically being a metallic salt of aluminum lake and Yellow #5 being tartrazine lake (not necessarily aluminum, but you can pick copper, et c to get different colors like green), they are both azo dyes and are chemically extremely similar. if Polissa has a sensitivity to Red #40, she's going to be much more severely reactive to Yellow #5 owing to it's greater concentration to get the vibrant yellow color.

Nothing makes you realize how horrifying artificially colored foods are than having experience with textile dyeing and realizing the dyes used in food are just the ones that don't fuck you up quite as badly when ingested.

That said, she could get off her ass for 30 minutes every morning and make homemade JD bowls and a pitcher of sweet tea to replace soda if she really wants to avoid artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. But she won't.

Family gets the living stipend in my state done through DFS. I'm surprised they don't in Alabama.

That said, I don't think a cat hoard would be that much of a turn off for a home study. Mainly they are looking for the child having their own space and making sure you have running water and electric and the place is safe for human habitat. An incontinent cat that barely moves isn't going to turn away these hardened battle axes of social workers who really want to have someone who won't beat the child or use them in a red room or something worse.

In my state there are three variants of placement.

1) You have direct placement in which all parties agree. There are no benefits given. You are also at the complete mercy of the parent.

2) You can petition the courts for emergency placement. You can get support, but you have to agree to go after the parent for child support. Great way to make enemies. Completely necessary.

3) You can foster. This involves a lot more work and you only have a short period in which you can apply after placement. This has money attached to it, and there are sometimes delay in the child receiving the money, but they absolutely will backpay all the way to placement. Your income isn't counted as part of the child's income, so like @bitchfit said, the child remains WIC, SNAP, and HEAP eligible with other allowances and the guardian is responsible for this money.

If I had to guess, the SW explained the first two. Polissa blew up and that was that. Or maybe they told her about the delay and that made her mad. Or maybe the SW passed her, but cares enough about her clients and her profession to strongly discourage Polissa by discussing the possibility of rejection or pushing the second option of going after her cousin. Or maybe Polissa isn't smart enough to comprehend.

Well would you look at that. It specifically lists food high in sugar. Now, I know some poor people live in food deserts and legitimately don't have access to fruits, vegetables, and non-processed junk but Polissa is not one of those people. She just said in a recent video she lives on a liquid diet (Mello Yello).

It is unknown if she still suffers from dumping syndrome, but if this list is any indication, I would say that's likely.

She had enough for one dinner, muffins, and then another breakfast, for Friday, but she didn’t know how she was going to make dinner on Friday without having to go back and buy more food. She doesn’t know what they’ll do after that. So, basically, she got 174 dollars in food stamps and she ran through it in four days, and will have nothing to eat for the rest of the month of February.

I think part of the problem is how much money she spends on soda, for her “liquid diet”. A twelve pack of name brand soda is like 7-8 dollars now.
