This will sound stupid but, writing.
In Western media, writing any fictional medium of some sort is now bastardized with politics, virtue signaling, and referencing one's own popularity on a social media account. What happened to writing an actual good story? What happened to well-written characters? Every character nowadays just seems flat with social identities of being a non-white race, LGBT+, and any form of disability just slapped on there with 0 personality traits to back them up as good characters. Heaven forbid if they write a woman character. They assume being a strong independent woman is to shame all men for their existence.
The stories that these abominations are in are no better. It is a singular hardship they go through and at the end of the day the woke character wins, and we all saw that coming because all of them are predictable. Basically unchecked Mary-Sues running around fighting political ideologies the creator doesn't like and they shove a message down your throat that "Hey X is good and if you don't like x you should die."
They also write and act like the audience is a child, and if there is a vaguely hidden message in the story, they will HAVE TO HINT AT WHAT THEY MESSAGE IS instead of letting the audience figure it out for themselves.
