I pulled up his LinkedIn (archive.ph, obviously don't look at his live profile unless you're on a separate browser) and I noticed that he's had a ton of job stints of <1 year.

The LI seems to not be up to date since his personal page and GitHub both say he's employed at GitHub itself now.

Now, plenty of techies will hop jobs every year and a half or so to aggressively pursue a bigger paycheck or fancier title, it's a known thing in the industry. But it can also be a pretty good sign of when someone's a dramacow who's difficult to work with. Especially when, like Chris here, you have a bunch of jobs you kept for literally three months. Liz staying at Google for nearly a decade is a major exception there.

He also loves that annoyingly twee "soooo, I did a thing"/cuss-heavy millennial speak:

His current personal website (live/archive.ph) has a masterful combination of JS and HTML set up so that if you click anywhere near his photo, it magnifies the pic so you get to see his wide ass manly mug plastered over your entire screen. I care not to share that picture with you again.

His GH (changed from kris-nova to krisnova, for some reason then had the unwarranted self-importance to park the old handle) looks surprisingly decent, though I'm presently short on time and can't really give it a closer look. Even if you were able to magically extract the transgenderism from this guy, I still wouldn't want to work with him. 10/10 times I would pick an autistic middle-aged Chinese guy for my team rather than the guy whose commit messages are shit like "...sigh...unfucked it again..." and thinks that writing Golang or whatever is "fighting fascism in tech".

Also, he chose the middle name Audrey? Come on. What the hell, he was born in 1984 not 1914.

Agreed. I figured it'd be interesting to look at his employment history, to see if his colleagues can stand him for more than a couple months, then just threw it all into a post. Liz is basically inactive these days.

He might be up to some cowish behavior on his Mastodon instance but Mastodon is pretty autistic and my day job uses up all my regular autism. Looked at it for a minute and saw this:

If it wasn't for Cows like ESR, RMS(Stallman) and Linus there wouldn't be nearly as much open source. Maybe it would have cropped up with things like the BSD and MIT licenses but I don't think it would have been nearly as popular.

It took huge personalities to sort of force it into the world and convince companies it was a good thing and they could actually make money by playing along. I think Null hinted at this the other day that the best political infrastructure may well be a benevolent dictator which is what we sort of have. People like Linus who have no problem telling people their code is crap without caring what color his/her/their/xir hair is.

I think if it was today we'd just be seeing everything behind patreons and similar and not nearly the same vibrant ecosystem.

Eric Raymond and Richard Stallman are both pretty cowish. Linus is just a Scandinavian autist (redundant) who's got a habit of being pretty abrasive.

Regardless of that, you should get some slack on being an eccentric weirdo if you're otherwise a productive member of society who isn't hurting anyone. Like Stallman: major, major, major fucking weirdo but his inventions were massive. Creating emacs alone has had a massive downstream effect; I believe that emacs and elisp inspired Matz to design Ruby, for one.
