As Josh stated on some semi-recent MATI stream, he's looking for an IX to move his old now-disconnected servers to. Once this happens I can begin rebuilding the frontend website. The backend (scanning and master DB) is totally unaffected by this situation, and as far as I know continues to operate normally (I don't actually monitor it). Not that it does anyone good until the frontend can be brought back online.

Because it's basically an ultimatum, every single time - 'You're not allowed to care more than me about this issue, or it's your fault what I do next.' By saying it - and not just saying it, but repeatedly saying it - they're implying that they're the arbiters of what is and isn't a reasonable opinion, and if yours is different, then you're expected to sacrifice if you defend yourself.

Fortunately for us, it only works if what they're implicitly threatening to withdraw matters to you - their friendship, their respect, their support, your account on ResetEra because they'll cry to the jannies. But it's such an insidious, crybully framing. I'll die on every hill - fuck it. It's just a metaphor, and you're trying to disguise an ultimatum as me being unreasonable. But then, I'm not part of a forum stuck in a never-ending purity spiral, afraid that if I say the wrong thing I'll lose the closest thing to friends I have in this world.

No, NeoGAF is not based. ResetERA is just so bad in comparison that it makes it seem normal. Evilore is an irrational, weirdo forum administrator who often bans people for bizarre or unknown reasons. The forum was becoming very active again and seemed like it a good place to discuss games until Evilore have an autistic meltdown, got rid of the politics forum and started banning people for any retarded reason. If you look at the bans page it doesn't even give real reasons for bannings and rarely even links to posts anymore. He also has a shitty attitude when he bans people.

Your average ResetEra user can't even socialize normally online. They're extremely rude, neurotic, and the smallest disagreement causes them to have meltdowns and become abusive. Imagine them trying to interact with people in real life. These people aren't socially awkward which some people actually find cute and attractive provided the person is actually interesting and polite. They're socially disabled and will never make any attempts to try to improve themselves at all. I would feel sorry for them if they weren't such abrasive assholes who would probably abuse the shit out of someone in an actual relationship.
