Olly does actually know about parasocial relationships, because that's all he has. That's why he spends so much time and energy on the [REDACTED] crap, he thinks that's how fame works. It's impossible for him to fathom that most other YouTubers, some less famous than him, also have fans who are fans because of the content rather than the person. If he ever had fans like that, he's alienated them a long time ago.I was going to madpost about Olly's recent award victories, but then I saw these (re)tweets.

Remember, Abi knows all about parasocial relationships. He's a master of the arcane art, a student no more. So yeah, he know exactly what it's like to be an OF star.
I certainly don't deny that. As hard as it is for us to understand, he has serious fans who not only watch his videos but also feel some sort of personal connection with him. Yeah, he is the object of parasocial relationships, but it's still really weird how he's been going on about that theme in recent months. Come to think of it, he actually hasn't said anything about parasocial relationships, only that he understands them. Why hasn't he said more? Provided some philosophical insights about the phenomenon. Saving it for a future episode, perhaps?Olly does actually know about parasocial relationships, because that's all he has. Delusional
Not you Oliver. Statuesque doesn't mean male footballer shoulders on a woman.
Like they’re going to take the main eye candy role and ruin it with a hulking troon.
Once again, imagine him saying anything like this (for a James Bond type role for the sake of an example) when he still considered himself a man.
I've said before, Olly is proud of the idea that he gets parasocial relationships, which kind of says it all. I truly believe that this is a response to that one Dutch philosopher in Macau university who made a whole video in the kindest and accordingly most brutal way possible explaining how Olly isn't much of a philosopher and his whole public persona is built around elevating and curating his profile above all else. It makes him feel like he's a desired, mover and shaker and actual celebrity who has to worry about things like stalkers (remember the 'security concerns' for his play?), the fact that he's retweeting an actual Onlyfans Thot essentially bragging about being so attractive that people follow her specifically for her entire persona rather than just the tits and as such can't be replaced by deepfakes is probably insightful of what he truly desires.I certainly don't deny that. As hard as it is for us to understand, he has serious fans who not only watch his videos but also feel some sort of personal connection with him. It's also weird that whenever he brings it up, he does so with a bothered tone. It's as if he thinks it's a bad thing that bothers him. Maybe parasocial relationships are bad (though I wouldn't put it so simply and binary), but it's an odd take coming from him.
The irony of his conceited behaviour is that real women in academia/intellectual spheres never talk like that, because they know that no one would take them seriously if every other tweet was them going 'omg babes i am so sex today lol anyway back to Hegel'Its actually fucking insane the way that he really thinks that going full troon gives him complete and total Carte Blanche to let his ego run absolutely rampant and he makes no attempts to hide it.
It's already been done to death! This kind of playing with convention was new and exciting in the 50s/60s. That's probably part of the reason why the critics were so lukewarm about his play - they'd studied Beckett and Stoppard in the first year of their drama degree and it's just not that interesting any more. It's only the trans angle that made them think they have to at least be polite about Olly's pretentious, adolescent bullshit. The only remotely interesting thing I could charitably give is that... there's a meta/fourth-wall breaking element to it? So I guess that's something? But even that vaguely intriguing hook is completely context-less in the void of everything else this is and if you tried to tell me "Shakespeare but they know they're in a play!" I'd shrug. All I got was some overacting and distracting lighting that let me feel some second-hand embarrassment via the overlit crowd of deathfats in masks sitting around.
Olly's just so obsessed with this parasocial relationship stuff, isn't he? I didn't realise it before, but it's clearly a narcissistic thrill for him to imagine a legion of basement-dwellers throwing money at him because Olly is such a perfect, unattainable woman (LOL).Remember, Abi knows all about parasocial relationships. He's a master of the arcane art, a student no more. So yeah, he know exactly what it's like to be an OF star.
Well, the word 'statuesque' literally means 'resembling a statue', so the only question is, which statue? Not you Oliver. Statuesque doesn't mean male footballer shoulders on a woman.
On the upside, a few months ago that same professor compared him to an award winning porn star:I've said before, Olly is proud of the idea that he gets parasocial relationships, which kind of says it all. It's a good observation that he's never been on Question Time or any of the BBC's panel shows. He's not an unknown quantity - he got interviewed for their website, he had (blink and you'll miss it) role on a BBC3 drama. He was on Owen Jones's podcast, he was interviewed by Paris Lees for National Student Pride, he was an extra with a couple of lines on a Channel 4 show, he's in the trailer for a Canal+/Sky Atlantic original, his play got a (derisory) mention in The Guardian, he has (tenuous) links to the Royal Institute.Deciding wether to call him Womb Raider or Toob Raider in my post but i'll just skip to the point where i'll just say, Olly, you don't have MASSIVE TITS.
He should be less bothered about insane acing ambitions ('acting' still being an ambition he hasn't even nailed), and more concerned with why he's not getting the shout to replace the odious India Willoughby as go-to panel Troon- the media are certainly crying out for someone less unpersonable and obnoxious to give the Troon side, but clearly aren't asking him .
he's even got the Scottish connection, from university...which again, curiously, he seems to take no interest in, despite living there for a few years...I guess he didn't really get involved, like Newcastle?
He's curiously placeless, isnt he? Maybe its a deliberate affectation for whatever devious ends, maybe it's just because he is too self involved to notice or care about his surroundings.
Then again, there's a chance he wouldn't take the risk involved in this kind of bun fight..he wouldnt like getting ragged on by all and sundry, though he disguises it as his 'no platform to /phobic views' stance....which really makes no sense at all-if you take his 'caring about trans rights' schtick as truth- that he only preaches to the converted..when they've got a chance of reply, anyway.
Pre-recorded BBC interviews are fine !
So, is he lying about having to constantly decline media appearances from entities guilty of hosting wrong-thinkers? Maybe. He is fame hungry but has demonstrated a lack of appetite for being unable to have total control of the narrative or garunteed adoring audience.
Or is it vast exaggeration of one or two instances?
Are they even asking him in the first place? The are crying out for such people, but Tube has likely burnt a good few media bridges already just by virtue of being himself.
So, what's more likely; his intellectual cowardice, or his delusional grandiosity?
Is it 'i dont care I wasnt invited, I woudlnt have gone anyway'?
-or, the natural result of being unpopular, both professionally and on a wider 'literaly who' scale?
BBC QT regularly has relative nobody panelists, and I do think i would be tough for Tubes ego to turn down the opportunity...
Many embarrassing potential realities jostle for probability.
Just like Tube, India inflicts fatal damage on the common Troon with every appearance, you've got to feel sorry for the normie ones, having that fucking pillock representing them, effectively going up against he horror show that is the Scottish rapist situation.
Tube would have done no better, but was too coward to even put himself n the line for 'his people', when in such a desperate need of positive representation.
When he gives his cringe, self martyring Braveheart speeches at safe, no stakes, student land trans marches, choking fake tears on his videos, hey should remember that he is nowhere for them when the going actually has a faint chance of looking rough.
(Of course, the only way to save any sort of face with the public for troons here would be to effectively admit that:
-trans women are notbetter thanexactly the same as women,
-that women's rights should be protected,
-& sex offenders should blanket banned from women's provisions.
This should be a simple thing to do, but does require having one iota of respect for women.)
Deciding wether to call him Womb Raider or Toob Raider in my post
This is the Farnese Hercules, a traditional representation of the mythological character, the personification of masculinity and strength:That's Heracles right? If so, far too flattering. Though, like Heracles, Chube also blames all his problems on matronly rich women.
20 years? Try 3 max. I doubt these e-thots give much thought to their chats and are basically using canned responses to their simps already. They probably also recycle the “exclusive” content to their fans. All they have going for them is that being a human woman, simps can delude themselves into thinking they can charm her into a real relationship or sex. Also, this woman's deluding herself if she thinks that AI can't one day replicate an OnlyFans-style fake personal relationship. It's not exactly the most intellectually-advanced realm of human endeavour is it? In twenty years, lonely incels will be able to jack in to a virtual reality girlfriend experience and she'll suddenly find - if she hasn't married a rich simp by then - that she's a middle-aged former e-thot holding down a minimum-wage job because she has no skills or work experience beyond posting pictures of her feet online.
An AI that can create OF content indistinguishable from what humans are creating today? The dialogue part is already possible, but realistic photos/videos? Three years seems optimistic (pessimistic?) to me, but I agree that the technology is advancing at an alarming pace. Maybe ten?20 years? Try 3 max. I doubt these e-thots give much thought to their chats and are basically using canned responses to their simps already. They probably also recycle the “exclusive” content to their fans.
Exactly. But when fembots become a thing (and I'm pretty sure they will be - the market is there all right), why would simps bother with charming real women when they can just power up a fake one?All they have going for them is that being a human woman, simps can delude themselves into thinking they can charm her into a real relationship or sex.
The image I posted before is a sculpture of Hercules Bibax (the Drinker), a satirical version of Hercules who is a lecherous, impotent, fat drunkard, a stock figure in classical comedies. I agree that being a lecherous, impotent, fat drunkard is much less embarrassing than being a troon, but Google didn't provide me with images of any statues that truly embody Olly's specific brand of cowishness.
