Wouldn’t be surprised if it was an expensive af mix that’d still be cheaper on sale at her local Publix. Although unless we see receipts I’m calling bullshit. She said she only has an air fryer, microwave and grill. Maybe she makes the muffins in a mug in the microwave, but instead of making the mix herself just puts in a few scoops of the muffin mix in and some water. That's the only possible way I can see her making them.

This is a horrifying thought that never crossed my mind. The rice she would probably buy would be the generic white rice that comes in an non-sealable box and definitely get roaches in it.

I get that they don't have a working stove but there's electric hotplates for very cheap on Amazon she can use to cook Hamburger Helper, grilled cheese, soups, etc.

But yet again, (say it with me) it's not because Polissa can't, it's because Polissa won't. Girl, you're your own worst enemy.

The world is in a chaotic state right now, there's no denying that. And it's made me turn inward and introspective, and even nostalgic. Going through some things of mine, trying to get ready for this move, worrying about everything in the world.

And I found an old book of mine, umm, I'm actually published in it. It's called rainstorms and rainbows, and it's a collection of poetry, and I would like to read you my poem.
(Poem in above post by [USER]@Ol' Dirty Fatso[/USER] I cannot bring myself to type it all out just yet.)

I generally like poetry. I'm one of those people who has actually gone to poetry readings at libraries and slam poetry competitions. I'm really not trying to be mean, but that poem was... Nothing.

Reading it in my head it is awkward and nonsensical - there's no cadence to it, it doesn't FEEL like a poem. Poems don't have to rhyme, they don't have to follow iambic pentameter or any particular rules. But they have to feel like poems. They have to have some flow.

When she reads it out it's even worse than it was in my head. It's so clear she didn't have any pacing in mind when she wrote the poem, because she has none when she's reading it. The piano music she put in the background sure is something.

Granted she wrote this in high school - normally I wouldn't judge someone at all for bad writing in high school. But she is reading this to us as an almost 40 year old woman as it she still thinks it's good.

Give me hats or whatever, I just find this to be a SPECTACULARLY bad piece of art.

I steamed Jiffy mix in mini muffin cups in a rice cooker, but that was back in college when I was wild and crazy. They were OK.
