Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
I took an L with Chauvin. His case IMO was solid, and he got 20 years even while the fent OD was really a true probable cause.
How'd you think Chauvin was getting off? They had feds ready to pick him up and bring him to a different prison the second he won the case if that happened, there was no winning that kangaroo court.

I thought it was a pretty clear-cut case of self-defense, not that that means much.
I expected him to cop a humble or two for walking around a riot with an AR-15 like a fucking idiot and contributing to the end result, but it was pretty clear the shootings were in self-defense.

I always thought Chauvin was at best a fuckup, and probably guilty of something, but not murder.
I'm not sure other charge you could possibly get for kneeling on somebody's neck until they die and then keeping your knee jammed in there for three full minutes afterwards.

I guess that rules you out.
No, I'm a left-winger, my opinions are usually bang-on the money because my judgement isn't clouded by incomprehensible seething anxiety about a world that's quickly leaving my values behind.

One good thing to come out of this mess was the outing of big snakes in an increasingly politicized middleman industry. Even before 2019 Funimation (let's add Crunchyroll too since they've since subsumed Funi under Sony) was moved onto my no-buy list because of their rampant dub script edits. Just weeks into Broly's success, I thought about actually buying a BD if for no other reason than to support Vic's job and Cheelai's ass...

...but then all that tard drama happened. Vic lost his gig for completely current year reasons, the few good anime dubs got ruined via cringe chills, the western animu community got that much more polarized, I joined a troll site called the Kiwi Farms, and a future Balldo spokesman gained popularity after becoming Vic's "internet lawyer".

Welp, sucks for Vic.
I agree that Ty should pay for everything since it was his colossal fuck up that caused all this to begin with. All the additional harassment Vic faces from this point on is entirely on his hands. Ty seems like a nice guy but he really embarrassed himself by talking big, putting on a huge air of confidence and then completely choking at the most crucial moments.

Ah well, on to the next drama. 🍹

Wasn't he only ordered here to pay the actual court filing fees here? That must only be a couple hundred dollars. At this point, may as well add it to the tab.

Moral of the story ?
Never let Nick Rekieta crowdfund your lawsuit and "recommend" his friend as your lawyer ever again.

Rackets is a fucking retarded wetbrain that routinely has the dumbest fucking takes on literally anything he opines on, and is demonstrably proven wrong with some regularity. He's also a literal cuck with a sub fetish. I have no idea why anyone would ever take him seriously, especially in the realm of law.

A shyster YouTube lawyer who was practicing less time than is required to become a senior at a big firm in an average sized city who only wanted clout and to rake in super chats and his bozo scammer lawyer pal LOST? Say it ain't so

Only thing I can unfortunately get out of this situation is that the psuedo-lawyer types that were popular on social media do not translate well into real life applicable law advice. I think, all around, Vic needed to gain more research on who can be a better trained lawyer that does not just get ego tripped through the idea of grifting his name onto a very popular anime voice actor.

Well that looks like he lost an arm, but is still alive. Not a win for sure, but could have been worse overall.
