I brought it up to Donny himself, and he says he made the term up, and that it means to talk shit about him and earn a page on PWL.

I looked it up on Urban Dictionary, and it turns out that Donny's bullshitting about making the term up; it means "to talk junk to start an altercation" in the context that he uses it, and the earliest Urban Dictionary entry predates PWL by about three years and was (probably) not written by Donny.

Yeah, if Donny Boy had invented the term, the Urban Dictionary definition would read:
"Popping Off is when a fucking faggot opens their gay ass mouth and shits out a bunch of lies about a Porn God like Donny Long, who is Totally awesome and not gay and didn't write this entry to make himself look good because that would be faggy and weaksauce."

EDIT: Except his version would be longer, less coherent and have alot more misspellings and bitterness.

Somehow I ended up at Donny Long’s web site. Don’t ask how or why because I don’t know, but I did. And I found a few things which made me laugh.

Now I’m not even sure if I know Donny Long. I know I’ve heard about him; things like him being pretty much a John who pays industry chicks porn prices to fuck him on tape. It is actually an awesome idea I must say, pretending to be a producer so you don’t have to pay them the outrageous prices they charge as hookers.

But here is a quote from Donny’s site that got me chuckling out loud:
Donny Long has appeared in over 500 scenes since 2005 making him a talent that is both well liked and one that delivers a hot scene.

Is Donny joking here? Does he really think that doing 500 scenes in two years makes him well-liked and means he does a hot scene? Really? ‘Cause I can name 20 guys who have done well over 1000 scenes in 10 years who are hated and who do some of the worst scenes ever to appear in adult films.

I ain’t gonna name any ’cause I don’t wanna, but let me tell you that just because you’ve been in the business for two years does not mean you’re any good: it’s that other people are worse.

Anything about Donny goes in Donny’s thread. You weren’t able to behave yourself in Donny’s thread so you were thread banned.

Things about YOU go in your thread. No one cares about Donny here, and contrary to popular belief, this thread does not exist to be your personal sounding board. It exists because there’re documented things that you’ve done that we’re finding interesting.

You constantly post crap about Donny in the thread that’s about you - and lately, it’s just been “bait” without any research or solid information. You keep talking about Donny and avoiding addressing anything brought up about you, therefore, you’re troll shielding and trying to deflect attention away from you.

Bear in mind that Donny did the exact same thing in his thread - he used YOU as his troll shield to deflect attention from him.

Well you keep copy/pasting your own comments or simply quote someone else without a comment. That get's annoying as shit pretty fast if you aren't providing any actual content.
And you should take @HickoryDickory's advice there. I'm sure we could clear out all kind of misconceptions.

That's not how it works at all. This is your thread, sure, and it's about you; factual information with actual evidence backing it up. Not you ranting about Donny and repeating the same shit thirty times in a row. We're finding real shit about you and your responses generally fall under 'hurdur you guys am dumb', 'How old are you' and 'Donny gots the HIV talk about him instead'. The more you do it, the more we want to learn about just who the fuck you really are.
