Unpopular views about music

Free Bird is actually a really good song, it's just been misused.

Example of how this is really an awesome song.

I dare you to disagree with my opinion after watching this.

Or fucking this.

I like Metallica's St. Anger. I also think it's a decent album, but not for playing it live. But that's because I like to listen to that album when I'm not in the best of moods.

Foo Fighters are decent at best, and Dave Grohl always gives off the impression that he's trying way too hard to be this cool rocker dude from a lost generation

Hunky Dory > Ziggy Stardust

I'm unsure how unpopular this opinion is online, but I fucking loathe the Dave Matthews Band

I actually like some vaporwave (especially MACROSS 82-99)

"Black Hole Sun" is a bad, bad song

Pop punk hit its saturation point/expiration date years ago and all these shitty local bands (I guarantee there's at least one in your area) need to stop trying to make it happen again. There's nothing new or interesting about it left. Just let it die already
I've always said that pop punk is basically this generation's equivalent of the glam metal invasion of the '80s.

It's sad that while that genre died a glorious death at the hands of groups like Guns N' Roses and Metallica, pop punk is still outstaying its welcome despite harder rocking (and vastly superior) bands like Royal Blood and Rival Sons receiving little to no mainstream attention.

This is more an unpopular view about music making rather than personal preferences as a listener, but I've found that I really enjoy playing for funerals in a way that I hadn't expected to before I became an organist. Even if I'm doing it for somebody I didn't know, there's something really nice about being able to assist in paying tribute to this person, even in a small way. A lot of funeral hymns and other music about death (requiem masses and the like) have come to hold a certain fascination for me as well.

colbie caillat needs to be taken out back and shot for her cover of "i want you back", because it is the most tepid, uninspired, wet bread, pinnacle of half-hearted acoustic vocals i have ever heard, and the fact people actually seek it out and enjoy listening to it will continue to confound me until the day i die.

All her music is boring. Normally I like or at least don't mind the kind of music she makes, so it says something that I think she sucks.

Reactions: Emo Supremo
"Imagine" by John Lennon. A dirge by a proto-hipster pseud who crowed about imagining no possessions but had a chilled room in his mansion to keep his collection of fur coats.

Everything in the top 40, most of the time. Machine-generated pabulum that's not worth the cheese off my dick - or anyone else's for that matter.

Elton John's "Candle in the Wind," 1997 edition, you know, the one he wrote after the demise of Princess Diana, Our Lady of the Landmines. Insincere emotional incontinence that he was producing just to keep him and David in pension funds, rent boys, and olive oil. He couldn't give a shit about how Our Lady of the Landmines carked it. He just wanted to make some griefbux off the back of it.

"Three Lions" by the Lightning Seeds. England have been crap at football for 50 years yet this song refuses to recognise it. Here is the football song that England fans should adopt to sing at matches for obvious reasons.

John Lennon is one of the smuggest, pretentious assholes in the history of Western popular music and I will never comprehend why he had the success he did.

Creed is one of my favorite bands and they make good music. I don't care if Scott Stapp was a drug addict.
I don't think it was his addiction that rubbed people the wrong way

anyway, my opinion
jimi hendrix isn't the best guitarist of all time
maybe top 10, not top 5
