Yeah, this would only be relevant if Rick is self-publishing like Owen A. Forums then there'd be no idea what his sales are unless he told us, but his garbage comes from an actual publisher. He also doesn't realize that he's telling other authors his books are garbage because they will know exactly what an e-book heavy sales profile will say about his books.

I can see the comparison in regard to Chris being the most trolled man in internet history, but I think Pat stands apart from him, DSP and Wings in that those three were usually only tormented by a very small, very dedicated group of people (I know Chris had lots of different groups fucking with him throughout his various arcs but, so far as I'm aware, they usually came one a time). There's also the fact that those three remain largely unknown in the grand scheme of things. Even Chris is still a relatively niche person of interest; while many people might recognise the name few will ever have had any direct interactions with him.
I think you're very much on the right track with your comparisons, especially Ralph. But there is one key point that you're missing.
A few years back there was an issue with actual scientists getting duped into appearing on those stupid discovery channel retard tier "science" shows.
