Grant said:
So yeah the next few weeks will decide my financial future for the rest of my life

He's being a tad melodramatic with the "financial future for the rest of [his] life" line, isn't he?

I mean, I certainly understand pessimism, but he's acting like his financial situation is something completely outside his own "agency" and can never possibly improve no matter how circumstances might change in the distant future. There is a difference between being pessimistic and totally resigning oneself to fate.

He had a livestream recently, where at the very end he broke down about failing college, and started crying in the middle of a game.
Oh how I wish I had OBS or something going because when I tried to mirror the rendered stream video, he had already deleted it.

Also, Grant had this to say about the Alison Rapp debacle briefly before deleting it.

Grant is aware that a lot of people fail out of college the first time and it doesn't mean you can't ever possibly succeed at college should you try again? It can actually be easier the second time, when you're more mature and have some perspective as to what life without a college degree is like which can be an excellent motivator.

How long ago was he in college anyway? I get the idea that it was at least a decade ago now. He's over 30, old enough to qualify as a "mature student" at some colleges.

I dunno, Grant, are you in the videogame industry or do you have some kind of communications or journalism degree? Can you conduct interviews or speak at length about a topic like you know what you're talking about in an expressive, non-monotonous voice and without lengthy, awkward pauses? And are you near GameSpot's studios in San Francisco?

I do think Grant, if he stops undermining himself with the negative self-talk and makes an effort and goes back to college, could work within the games industry, though behind-the-scenes, either as a developer or someone who works on assets (i.e. graphics or sound). He's not someone with the spontaneity or demeanor to be an on-camera personality, though.

Also, even being a GameSpot employee doesn't entitle you to hook up with other GameSpot employees, sorry.

I did like this reply.

Also in the category of being jealous of men whom he thinks have hot women fawning all over them.

Basically this. I spent 3 years studying a degree I didn't like and after some introspection I finally chose something I actually enjoy. Yeah, maybe you can still struggle a bit if you feel too old or if you have depression. But hell, if he also acts acting and the videogame industry that much he could just try to "copy" Big Boss' psyche or any other Determinator character to get the motivation to achieve his goals.

But alas, it seems it's easier to just complain a do nothing. Such are the current times of Paymetons and muh victimism.

The thing I find most infuriating about Grant is that I know he's capable of making an effort when he wants to make an effort. Losing weight wasn't easy and he seems to have kept it off as well, which takes a lot of will power and discipline. I just wish he could put the same amount of effort into other things in his life beyond just keeping relatively slim.

Grant's started streaming on Periscope lately. Unsurprisingly, all he streams is him showing all the useless shit he wastes his money on instead of moving out of his parent's house. He's also been sperging about his hatred of laugh tracks in sitcoms a lot lately, which has to be his most specific autism trigger.

Tbh, Grant's life would be a lot less depressing if it had a laugh track.

I saw those Periscopes but the audio was terrible. I couldn't hear him. He probably does need to get a better microphone, but probably not that Blue Microphones Yeti Pro he linked to on his Twitter that costs £199.99 (even though there are other Blue Yeti Pro mics with identical specs that cost less than half that).

I'm not saying he should get a crap microphone from Poundland either, but there's gotta be a happy medium here.

Oh yeah, about the laugh tracks, Grant is aware that plenty of sitcoms (usually single camera) don't have them, right? I think most of the ones that still do air on CBS which, for whatever reason, generally sticks to the classic three-camera-and-studio-audience sitcom format. I'm not too fond of laugh tracks either, but The Big Bang Theory has them and gets huge ratings (by today's diminished broadcast network ratings standards, at least) so I guess there's still an audience that appreciates hearing other people laughing.

Oh, I'm not a fan of laugh tracks either. I just never thought I'd see someone so thoroughly triggered by them. Back when Grant streamed on Twitch, he once went on such a passionate rant about laugh tracks that he ended up crying and shutting off his stream. They're fucking laugh tracks in a dumb sitcom...
