I think there's a fundamental difference between what Karl is doing and what's normal. It's normal to be against all gun laws and shit like that. It's not normal to point at a group of armed faggots protecting a pedophile event and declare, "Those people need MORE guns, and if you disagree you're trying to disarm people." Which is what Karl is doing.

Ian just seems like a good guy, honestly. A true historian, willing to work with who he needs to if it means ultimately documenting every gun in history. With Karl unfortunately, that blew up in his face worse than a headspace failure, despite getting some good content out of it, and he seems to have realized it ultimately.
