Paramedics wanted to get Archie to hospital as quickly as possible

Ms Bennett has also defended the ambulance service’s decision to take Archie to Southend Hospital instead of going to the Royal London Hospital straight away. She said that as Archie was in cardiac arrest, it was their policy to get him to “definitive treatment” as quick as possible.

She said: “Our protocol is to go to the local A&E [accident and emergency] as we need to get to definitive care as quickly as possible.” Ms Bennett said for patients in cardiac arrest there is only limited treatments that can be immediately carried out, and with Southend being so close, it was their only viable option at the scene.

“London would have taken us an hour. Southend was five minutes down the road. It wasn’t discussed at the scene and wasn’t within our protocols.”

She also added that the crew had come by road ambulance, and the air ambulance was not present.

Mum was “emotionally distressed” when paramedics arrived, inquest hears

Catherine Bennett has now concluded her evidence and Coroner Lincoln Brookes is reading out a statement from another member of ambulance staff, Jenny White, an emergency medical technician at the time who attended the scene.

Ms White said she assisted other medical staff with administering care to Archie in his home, saying that while they were doing this, Hollie Dance had been “emotionally distressed” and wishing Archie to recover.

She added that at one point, a brother of Archie had arrived at the scene and “there was a loud, verbal exchange with the police” before Archie was taken to hospital.

Ms Dance told to keep talking to Archie as paramedics worked to save him

Kevin Fog, another member of the ambulance team who attended the scene, has also had a statement read out.

He said that he kept reassuring Hollie Dance while Archie was receiving treatment in his home, saying she should “keep talking to him” and that she had “done very well” with the emergency treatment before the paramedics arrived.

Their live update person kinda sucks at their job its been 40 mins now...
UK courts typically start late, finish early and take lots of breaks....

I can't edit the post above any longer so, if there any further updates after the 'Ms Dance told to keep talking' one, I'll add them in another post.

I should be able to do something similar with the live updates tomorrow (assuming they're doing them)

from two minutes ago

So from the outset, Holly knew best even though she didn't administer CPR and doesn't understand the minutiae associated with whether or not you get a neckbrace or what hospital you go to.

Perhaps she was angling for compo.

And the delinquent older brother was causing trouble as usual.

No wonder Archie wanted out.

Archie's body was 'lifeless' while receiving CPR

More statements from the medical teams who treated Archie at the scene have been read to the court by Coroner Brookes.

Toby Henshaw said that while he was giving CPR to Archie his body was “lifeless” but there were no obvious signs of serious injury.

Mr Henshaw said Archie was in a “pulseless electrical rhythm” before his transfer to hospital, adding that Hollie Dance was “understandably emotional”, reassuring her that Archie was in the best possible hands.

Statement from Archie's dad

We’re now hearing a statement from Paul Battersbee, Archie’s father.

Mr Battersbee said his son was a “lovely little boy” who never complained about his home life, and that he had a good relationship with his new partner.

Archie's dad said son was 'too happy' for incident to be deliberate

Paul recounts how he was due to call Archie at 4.30pm the day he went into hospital, and that he had texted him, with no reply. He later received a call from Archie's mum Hollie Dance who was “hysterical”, saying that Archie was “up the hospital”.

Mr Battersbee said: “I couldn’t accept that it had been deliberate, as Archie was just too happy.” He said Ms Dance “couldn’t shed any light on what happened”, and that the whole process had been “such a shock”.

He added: “He was always playing tricks, jumping out on us. They were typical childhood tricks, they were not naughty.”

Hearing concludes for the day

Mr Battersbee’s statement has concluded, and that is all the evidence to be heard today.

This is important info from the paramedic - PEA is a non shockable rhythm so nothing the medics do from then can 'bring him back'.
Archie had no chance of revival at this point according to this evidence.

Interesting bit on the BBC website (Archive) showing that even with the self harm & suicide messages she still doesn't want to see the obvious.

Asked how she thought her son died, she told the inquest on Tuesday: "I think he climbed on the banister and probably fell, causing serious injury to his neck, resulting in unconsciousness."

Yeah Hollie, and slipped his head through a noose tied to the bannisters while in midair...

Since she approved of this behaviour (based on the video she posted the other day), wouldn't that make her guilty? Or at least feel guilty? It's a parent's job to tell you if something you do is a shit idea and / or is dangerous.

(Yes, I can hear myself, and also yes, I mustn't believe a word she's saying)

Do you beleive there will be a document for public view like her court hearings had?
UK inquests are open to the public and all the documents\reports are available but, AFAIAA, they aren't online so you'd need to request a copy from the relevant office (and, most likely, pay a fee). I've never had to do it so I don't know if they'd send paper copies or email a PDF

Was there no evidence about a cord or ligature or anything at the scene or scissors or a knife to cut him down? Didn’t Ms.Dance originally say she cut him down and he fell several feet?

God these people are insufferable, giving grief to people trying to do their job. They love causing drama and noise just for the sake of it. Even more disgraceful considering the context here.

I posted everything that was in the blow-by-blow report, there wasn't any mention of a ligature in those reports but that doesn't mean it wasn't mentioned in court.

It would surely be beyond belief for there never to have been a hanging and HoLi had just invented those details - how the fuck would she row back on that? The press would have a field day and even Archie's Army would crucify her....
