A few anecdotes about this:

#3 is rare, and #4 is common for strippers but not porn stars; lots of porn stars quit.
Tons of porn stars do e.g. meth or MDMA, which
is meth or at least a variation. There is, and I am not joking about this, a therapeutic dose for meth
(link) i.e. a dose that should not harm the body in any serious ways. As you'd imagine
abusers are doing A LOT more than this (studies show 10x-12x more), and high doses of meth make many people

In Aella's case I think she's #2. When you're hyper-religious, doing
anything sexual is sort of like breaking the law, and there's a known phenomenon where if you break the law in one way and the penalty is severe you're not as averse to breaking the law in a different way.

In my case — trying to follow the "don't be a lolcow" advice here and keep this short — I was an escort from 2015-2017 due to severe body image issues I had, so I was a #2. Specifically I didn't "believe" compliments on an emotional level, but being paid for sex felt real.
Usually, people who do sex work are going through a transitional period of their lives. Once I became okay with how I looked, casual sex turned me off a lot and I stopped escorting. possible to do actively for a long time and be psychologically healthy, but it's rare — I'd estimate 1/100, maybe 1/150.

According to her answer in the Austin discord she made I believe $350,000/year; it was somewhere between 300-400k and I had an "above 500k" option so we know it's not that. Her subscriptions are $23/month, according to her OnlyFans. Several websites estimate her total subscriptions around 3000 but I don't know how reliable those are. If we use "Like" numbers as a proxy for subscribers, she used to get 200-350 likes per post and now she gets about 100-150. (Her best month was September 2020.) So, she could unironically move to a cheap city and retire. She is a literal millionaire. She's for the most part done with OnlyFans/etc. Her main priority right now is amplifying her notoriety as much as she can, and getting the most important husband she can get. Many men in power, especially in tech, don't care that she was an escort. They care that she "wasn't trashy" and that she can say the right things to make them look better.

But for real: there's a strong possibility she could one day be worth 100M+ by having a husband who can indirectly move that much money around on her behalf. I wouldn't be posting all of this crap otherwise.
