Eron pretty much made his own bed. Sure, he may have handled the situation better.. but he was under a gag order too. I believe he would have been chimping just as bad as she was.

I don't have sympathy for either of these idiots. Either way the case went, we were gonna get more milk.

If you read or tried to read the Zoe post, Gjoni is so beta and whiny that it is literally painful to read. The idea of this guy as some kind of dangerous abuser is laughable.

I more or less agree, but on another level, it's hard not to feel some sympathy for such an utterly whipped, pathetic individual.

He's just really naive. Zoe's red flags can be seen from a mile away and he was too socially obtuse to notice until the problems were starting him in the face.

He was also dense enough to not predict the blowback to his own life, to believe that Boston magazine wouldn't set him up for a hit piece, and to buy into his lawyer's scheme to keep appealing a dropped gag order. Or maybe he's just a robot and doesn't care that much.

Eron is goddamn deer in the headlights. Chelsea is the kind of chick that'd approach you at a bar and proposition you almost immediately.

Then, when you turned her down, she'd get aggressive and bitchy. She seems like the type who feels she's entitled to dick.

Best approach is to capture her in a web of conversation and leave said bar after having delivered a burn. Or, just keep buying her Shirley Temples.

It's why I always found Zoe's attempts to spin him as someone leading Gamergate as pretty damn funny. The guy couldn't even make the Zoe Post without his friend insisting he do it. You ever meet someone TOO nice? Where you feel bad for them because you know life is eventually going to fuck their shit up and they'll never see it coming? That's Eron. Life is balls deep in him right now.

At the time they appealed, it was still on his permanent record, so any future event would have him on file as an abuser.

That's not a minor or trivial thing to have on your record. For instance, it could keep you from getting a concealed carry permit if you actually needed one. It could get you in jail any time you had any girl trouble that ended up in a cop call. It could keep you from getting a teaching job. It could fuck up your life in all kinds of unknown future ways.

Also much of it was pro bono or paid for by donations. For instance, the amicus brief from Eugene Volokh was pro bono.
