If gender dysphoria is all in your head and not true then you cannot treat it with transition. For instance, a lot of them will retort to pregnancy being a female process by claiming that "trans-men can get pregnant." This of course true, but ignores the fact that trans-men are in fact, identical to other female people in every way. It's trying to spin a logical argument out of "because I say so."

We see it here too. Tony claims that transition is not "affirming the dysphoria" because in his worldview, trans people actually have a "true" version of themselves that is concealed by the false body they were born in, and this is so sancrosanct to him he can't even begin to defend that assumpton.
