I think people are exaggerating how bad this comic is. It's just supposed to be a "Ha-ha, lazy husbands, am I right, fellow moms? Isn't that #relatable?" and not a serious condemnation of her husband.

For a minute I wanted to give her a benefit of a doubt, but I went to look at more comics and it strikes me as less “funny and relatable” and more “my husband and kids make me miserable, and I need to tell the Internet all about it”.

The first one had me stumbling into r/childfree of all places, where the used condoms there were like “ugh, look how awful having children and being heterosexual is”.
Edit because the last one keeps baffling me. I’ve heard about situations where the family is poor, there’s not a lot of food left, the paycheck comes in tomorrow. So the parents will eat bare minimum, if at all so the kids have food. She is very clearly well off, so why is she relegating herself to scraps? Are you that exhausted that you can’t just throw together some toast or a bagel for yourself while the kids eat?

The comics aren't bad, but the creator is very clearly a sandy cunt because each comic has a blog post on instagram. This isn't "take my wife... please!" relationship bantz, she is very obviously seething. This is her calling out her husband publicly for asspats from internet strangers.

I don't get why the wife is humiliating her husband and putting out all their issues to the public. She says they're working on their issues and basically says he's being deprogrammed from society's harmful sexism. Which, hey, I agree, there is sexism and shit. But why would you air this dirty laundry online and then act all surprised when people make fun of you? And then go on to act all patronizing towards your husband in an interview? I feel bad for the husband.

What's worse is reading that blog about how much he does. I kind of expected him to be an unhelpful husband based on the comics she's made and the way she talks about how they're "working" on their "issues"... but from her own words, he's doing way more than his fair share of the work. He makes all of the family's meals, does the grocery shopping, does chores, works as a lawyer, coaches kids, and offered to pay for assistance... like wtf lady. What more do you want from him?

I can believe lazy and useless husbands exist, I'm sure we all know of one. I can also understand that parenting is hard and making "relatable" comics about the frustrations that come with parenting is no big deal IMO. But there's a difference in making silly relatable comics and passive aggressive comics aimed at your spouse for all the world to see.

Honestly, if your spouse is so bad, why aren't you doing something to fix it? Does pointing out your partner's bad behavior to strangers solve the problem? No, it makes people hate them and your partner doesn't appreciate being called out either, which is only going to lead to resentment and more fights.

Either dump him if he's so terrible and unwilling to change, or solve your issues in private like other couples. At the very least, don't act surprised and complain about being the victim when you're the one that put your sensitive information for people to read in the first place.

First of all, she's almost assuredly not eating scraps. Given her track record it's a cheap lie for asspats, like nearly everything else she says.

If it IS true then she's simply shit at meal planning and prep. His public work is amusing enough (I can guess what happened to a man that went from cute dudebro/romcom lighthearted comedy to deranged feminism to deranged /pol/tardism) but good data, that I've never found.

Going on that Penny Arcade show really fucked Erika Moen.

For anyone not aware, what happened was Penny Arcade did a reality show that was supposed to be like Idol or one of those shows except for webcomics, except if the contestants only sang to get out of elimination and the show just focused on contract deals and publicity signings. The problem was, everyone they hired was already working in webcomics, Moen had started Dar ten years prior at that time and had just published her GN Bucko through Dark Horse. Anyway, Moen lost, but a consolation prize was a dinner with Robert Khoo, Penny Arcade's CEO and they'd talk about possible ventures. Moen mentioned wanting to make a webcomic about sex education and reviewing sex toys, and Khoo helped her get it going.

The problem? This was when 50 Shades was coming out, and Moen, by her own admission, does not deviate from her own personal tastes enough to properly review toys beyond vibrators, and is too vanilla to get into the more extreme stuff (Vanilla compared to deviants, at least).

If she'd worked with better writers and done another GN, she could have made some interesting stuff. But doing shitty drawings of fat people having sex every week really fucked her over.

No new posts for a while, gonna bring back another old horror you guys: Kevin and Kell, a furry webcomic that tries to come across as "deep" and shit, but just ends up being ridiculous. It's sorta similar to that Beastars anime, where predator and prey furries live in the same world with one another and there's a lot of talks about "predator/prey" relations and stuff like that; of course, it wouldn't be a furry story without everything being catered to fetishes, so naturally the entire plot gets sideswiped in favor of vorephilia, gore, digestion, and other shit that I don't even want to remember right now. Throw in the usual furry shit of "humans are infinitely worse than the morally better furries!!!1!" for some retarded-ass reason, and I think it deserves the title of "bad webcomic".

What do you guys think?
