Hogwarts Legacy - Harry Potter open world RPG (no trannies allowed)

After the shit that troons gave Swery for Deadly Premonition 2, I am laughing my ass off.

nigga they can't even manage to put the quidditch shit on time, what makes you think they have time to put stupid wizard romance? Also the devs stated there's no romance (for now)
it's a bit deceptive because the first time you do a side quest to help some rando you get a percentage popup for "character relationship completion" which might sound like a romance thing, but it's not - it's just a friendship thing.

I'd actually be interested in a detailed review from someone who knows jack shit about Potter. I'm tainted having read the books and watched some movies, but I wonder how well the game presents everything for those who know nothing (and there are millions of people born after that may have never read/seen).

PC performance is pretty stutter-y for now, but I'm ~10 hours in and other than that the game is really stable for me. :optimistic:
The biggest glitch I've experienced was when I was petting a cat, another cat randomly spawned right next to it and they both started meowing at me in unison. Which, well, I'm not even mad about it.

Well hopefully Digital Foundry will get their video out soon.

Oh wait. Nevermind. Digital Foundry won't cover the game and NeoGAF are upset.

pretty fun game I've only been able to play for a couple of hours. Story is the biggest complaint I have so far.. I don't like the fact that your character is just joining Hogwarts as a fifth year with no prior magical education. There are transfer students from other schools in Hogwarts why not make your character one of them? He or she can still be special. It just feels very fanficy to me. plus it expands the lore of other wizarding schools in the HP universe.

Welp, they’ve moved goalposts again. Now the claims that “Rowling said all proceeds go to anti-trans orgs!”. Course, when you ask these people for any form of source, they just give you some word salad on how you’re “uninformed” and thus your opinion is irrelevant.

No joke, I use Zucc’s Blue Hell Site for a few things - mostly shitposting groups - it’s telling how even normies and boomers there are questioning this shit.

I kind of understand it; they didn't want you starting out as a literal stalker child, so they needed you to be older, but if you're a transfer student you should already know all this tutorial shit. The "starting as a fifth year" is a convenient figleaf for why you're older yet are being taught basic shit. (And obviously the "I can see ancient magical jizz" is going to come into it).

A fair point. the question of why you've not been to wizard school till now is probably left open so the player can fill it in themselves.

Even though my computer's decent, I still have to run it in low settings. It's still looks fine. As far as glitches go, some water graphics shit themselves occasionally, NPCs pop out of thin air, and I've gone through a few.

To them, JKR contributing to a Women(only) Shelter is Anti-Trans.

Picked it up on Series X and have been playing all week.

Within the first few hours I turned to my wife and said that this is probably the most progressive game I have played in years. Theres more diversity than a Netflix movie in this game. This would have totally been a "win" for them, instead they took a stance that is exposing them to normies as the nutcases they are.

I don't even like Harry Potter very much but the game has really engrossed me in the world. The paintings, the statues, the doors, everything about the world design is excellent. The attention to detail, and the amount of ways to interact with the world are awesome. I dont even mind the Ubisoftesque map with collectibles because it gives me an excuse to run around the world. The story isnt great, but its keeping me engaged enough and I like all the side characters. Not every Slytherine is some hitler youth, not every Gryffindor is the shonen protagonist. I dropped my 3rd Elden Ring playthrough to try this game and probably wont go back until I 100% this.

I wonder how the poor kids get through Hogwarts. "What, you want me, your teacher, to teach you a mandatory spell for your final exams? Fork over 3k for a the biggest herbology pot and grow me some fluxweed first you little shit."

Do I look like enough of a twat?

Ok, I may be massively late but they added in a MtF character, made them have obviously masculin features, a deep voice, and serve alcohol to kids? This is fucking hilarious.

Seems like a good enough game so far. Hopefully some patches are out soon to fix some of the PC performance issues.

That isn't a Glitch, that is just Cats being the Satan Spawn they are.
