What game do you wish Phil would play? - AKA best future TIHYDP material?

I just saw a vid on how its the rpg that hates you and now i REALLY want piggy to play it.

The game is unfair, ambiguous as fuck and most importantly realistic for dsp. Not even with a guide is a guarantee since the drops are random and theres a coinflip mechanic. I pray that one day he plays it or F&H 2 Termina, i would actually sit down and watch.

Highly recommend it to anyone interested in horror and weird shit.

I'd love for him to play original metal gear and the sequel metal gear 2 solid snake.

Just for the THYDP content

Isn't there one already? I don't know much about MGS but Soma Julius Cruz has a clip of DSP failing at an old MGS game in his intro.

As far as I know he only played ...if you can call it that, solely the 3D ones not the 2D ones from the late 80's. Which are included with Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence and later addition.

This are the ones I'm talking about.

Soul Reaver would be another game that would guaranty some lolz.

or hell one of the old school Sierra games like one of the police quest series utterly pedantic to a point maddening entirely by design.

I'd like to see him play a mobile game that isn't a simplistic match 3 game like WWE Champions.

I've been playing Punishing: Gray Raven for quite a while(since November last year)and it's not one of those games where you just mash away or use auto battle, you're expected to actually play the game(I know, shocking). Funny enough, two patches ago, there was a limited time match 3 mini-game they added(which was admittedly kind of fun)and he'd probably love playing that over the actual gameplay. That, and the only character I can see him avoid using would be this one because big anime tiddies = gross in the United States of Phil.

With how much of a prude he's become, watching him play Leisure Suit Larry would produce some gem moments.

If he plays soul reaver, i can see him talking over dialogue(which is one of the best things from the game) also i can see him complain about the gameplay

Reactions: Rubick
Since he lusts for Elden Ring, how about an Elden Ring clone called Bleak Faith:Forsaken? He will definetly hate it.

Has he played sons of the forest yet? I'd give him about 15 minutes battling with the inventory and crafting system and combat/hunger before he gives up and quits.

Given that they're being rereleased for Switch next month, Advance Wars 1 and 2. They're moderately difficult (most people could beat AW2 with < 10 game overs on Normal or <25 on Hard so..... at least 50 for Phil; I'm less familiar with AW1 but found it to be harder overall from what I remember) and require more thought than just unit matchups/prioritizing which enemy units to attack - production buildings will be multiple turns away from the frontline in many mid- to late- game missions which forces the player to build units based on what will be useful 3-plus turns from now rather than what is useful immediately. Phil does not have that level of foresight or strategic planning so I imagine he would dismiss good advice from guides/chat as stupid and get clobbered for his trouble.

One of the in-game factions (Blue Moon) is loosely based on Russia too so we would probably get Phil's unbelievably stupid takes on the war in Ukraine whenever they show up especially since the first story arc of AW1 revolves around them invading the heroes' home country.

Edit: Plus two of the other factions have aesthetics loosely based on WWII era Japan and Germany - not enough to cause a controversy if they're left as-is from the GBA games but definitely enough for Phil to make extremely tasteless jokes. If we're lucky we might even get the return of Isaac Heimler!

I want Phil to go back to The Binding of Isaac so Derich can tell him about coomer mods until it's sent to Banworld. That and seeing him struggle in midgame levels and calling Mom's Heart the final boss would be a little funny. That or Boneraiser Minions so he can shit on games like Vampire Survivors and whine that 'all of my progress is gone' as if you can't unlock or upgrade items by playing the game, because roguelite/like replay value is an alien concept to him.

he already did
Similar to Salt and Sanctuary, sure he did play it... once, during a marathon over half a decade ago and then never picked it up again (or at least that's what I'm seeing when I search his channel). That's why 'go back to' is there, I want to see current year Phil seethe while playing roguelikes because 'muh progression'. Either that or whatever videos he did later were forgotten even by Youtube, because all I can see are videos from 2015.

tbh, i would like phil to pigsplain why roguelikes are stupid because you have to keep playing them
and then try to make it so "mobile games where you drop a dollar once in a while" is fine and "multiplayer games" or fine too

Dead Cells. I heard it's hard and is procedurally generated (minimizing guide abuse). Might be a funny one to see him rage on.
