The ACW probably fits Sulla's civil war better, since Lincoln's dictatorial powers ended with the war and presidents didn't gain that kind of power again until nearly a century after. If he got into that he'd reveal how the comparison only works in the broad strokes, the most similar events occur in a different order due to the differences he points out (geography, culture, the industrial revolution and its consequences, &c.) . Rome starting out as a single city state rather than as an alliance of culturally distinct settler groups also makes the ACW quite inconvenient for this kind of comparison unless you just go full materialist and claim that the ACW was a class war which Rudyard is against.

Speaking of broadstrokes comparisons, between statements like this and him being named after Kipling, is Rudyard the male version of Soph? The kind of person who might have been a breadtube faggot due to his age and cultural background but got pushed to the right by his parents, giving him that same combination of zoomer inexperience and strong opinions typically held by much older people. Soph did commentary on society and other content creators, and Rudyard does speculative history and broad-sweeping theories, both of which are stereotypical for "intellectual" girls and boys during their coming of age respectively. Both got edgier as their content progressed, and when this had given them notoriety they then had debates against the lefty debate bro of the day- Destiny vs. Soph and Vaush vs. WIAH. As far as I know nobody is writing hit pieces on Rudy, but that's probably because lefty journos aren't scared of Youtubers anymore.
