I'd feel sorry for her, but this is the life she chose as an adult making her own way in life.
She traded her safety and dignity for internet clown points that literally no one cares about.
But, I have to admit that being a homely looking woman under the thumb of a fat, alcoholic ragepig on his second marriage, is kinda trad. Like 1509-1547 trad. Lean harder into the trad angle, May!
The fringe weirdos on the right have certainly tried to extend the definition of trad to some bizarre lengths. Sort of like how far left Christians are convinced Jesus was cool with Troon bondage polycules.
A real traditional woman is a SAHM who has 4-8 kids, goes to church twice a week with family, cooks meals from scratch, keeps a spotless house, dresses modestly and willingly and happily submits to her husband who loves and respects what she does for the family.
Meigh, however, is going for TRADWT (Traditional White Trash). A Traditional White trash woman is one who takes abuse, regularly engages in fights in private and public with her man, house is filthy, food is take-out or frozen, takes lot of selfies, dresses like a whore, uses children as shields in fights with her man, only submits to husband to avoid punishment or needs money for drug/diapers. She is happy to engage in shady or criminal behavior to grift money. When Ralph asks for Rozy's SSN so Ralph can try to run up a new round of debts he won't pay, Whorse will think it's a brilliant idea.
Whorse has definitely achieved the level of White Trash Trad.
Which is even more bad news for Rozy. Without any actual friends, Meigh is going to treat Rozy like a peer instead of a daughter as she gets older, opening up to her about things a child should never be aware of. Rozy is going to feel like she has to manage her motherâs feelings when her mother should be focused on allowing her child to remain a child. That kid would have been better off being born to literally any other couple.
Meigh wanted a baby for the worst two reasons women get knocked up - to provide herself a BFF, someone that has to love her and can't leave, AND to force a permanent bond with a man.
Loneliness/ lack of friends is a depressing reason that women want kids, but then they end up resenting them because babies aren't the emotional security blanket they imagined. Rozy will definitely grow up carrying the emotional burden of comforting her immature mother, providing her only source of companionship and dealing with the constant chaos of mom's selfish and stupid decisions. What is confusing and scary chaos to Rozy is exciting drama for Meigh.
