They seem to be the European equivalent of Canadians for some reason, being loyal to their leadership to a fault, and claiming to be better than their nearest neighbor (in Ireland's case, the UK). And I can see Ireland taking a few notes out of Canada's notebook, i.e. MAID, mass importing people, and silencing critics of the government by Thanos snapping people's money if they dare to do so.

And has anyone made any comparisons about the game boycott, to the Russia-Ukraine War (with JKR and the game as Russia, and troons as the innocent Ukrainians, trying to fight for their lives), or the Hong Kong freedom protests, in that "we cannot fail this protest, like how the Hong Kong protests failed"?

I'm a be dead honest. I've been playing HL since i got off work, and its been the happiest thing I've ever played. Its fun, and gives me a joy that i felt when i was a kid watching the second harry potter movie.

During his bad at video games stream, after @Null woke up in the Girls side of the Hufflepuff Dormitory and began waving his wand around he laughed with such childish glee I think an entire decade was removed from his life. For one transcendent moment he was not the ooperator, the Dark Lord of the Internet who shall not be named but known by all. He was just a child at school rejoicing in his ability to blast fireballs at the wall with no repercussions.

I think it says something fundamental when the Kiwifarms can find joy in a video game while the same people who hate us, and by extension hate this same video game find nothing but misery. Its a transcendent comedy of our time that a fucking harry potter game, made to be as inoffensive as possible to the very people who were determined to find offense in it anyway is this shared cultural moment. A moment when the the forces of "Evil" and "Good" can come together and relive their childhoods with a genuinely good game.

And do so to the wailing and gnashing of teeth of chittering demons determined to suck all joy and happiness from our world.

I had no expectations when I bought this game, yet it turned out to be pretty good, apart from shitty optimization. The fact that troons seethe about it makes my time spent playing it even better, and as we all know, what makes the troons inch that much closer to the rope is alright in my book. WB better not fuck this up with an apology.

That troon trying to paint Louisville as some evil transphobic nightmare realm full of violent redneck Trumpers is actually hilarious. Louisville is a pretty liberal city for the South, goes blue in every election, pretty tolerant crowd all told. I've been to parts of New England that were less tolerant.

Anyways, couldn't agree more with the other people here who have played the game. I've been playing it since the early access release and it is absurdly fun and sweet. And more than that, it's a really well-designed game and has a lot of really innovative and fun features. The graphics are absolutely stunning as well. I can't recommend it highly enough honestly. Shame the troons won't play it, maybe experiencing wonder and the joy of exploration and a really good story for once would help fix whatever is so deeply, deeply wrong with them.

On the topic of the boycott, my personal favorite part has been watching the trans activists eat their own wrt trans-identified people who want to play the game. This morning I saw a troon tell another one that they should be beaten to death with hammers because they wanted to pirate the game, because just not paying for it wasn't good enough. Really priceless.

A whole generation wanted to go to Hogwarts. This game is purely that fantasy. It's definitely what I always wanted. I'm really glad that I don't care about men who pretend to be women. Like, imagine that being the reason you didn't want to play this game. It's so funny to me, it's the most idiotic controversy I have ever seen. All JK Rowling did was acknowledge that actual women exist. I'd be scared to see if she actually said something edgy!

Honestly, same. I was a huge HP nerd as a kid, and as childish as it might be, I am having an absolute fucking blast with HL. It's fun! It doesn't take itself seriously, it knows it is a silly magical world where nothing makes sense, and the gameplay is actually pretty enjoyable. The developers genuinely seem to have given a shit about this game too, considering all the little things that have nothing to do with gameplay or even plot happening in the background. I'm enjoying just running around Hogwarts, clicking stuff that is animated and spamming Revelio everywhere to pick up neat little lore tidbits.

Also, for an AAA game on day one? The only bugs I have seen are minor cosmetic issues, like pop-in and slightly longer than intended loading on the door transitions. That, on it's own, is worth praise. It's incredibly sad that "the game works on release" is a point of pride, admittedly, but still, the devlopers actually did a genuinely good job. (Granted I am on PS5 version, I have heard the PC version is not so perfect.)

I'm on PC, and it sometimes dips into a slideshow FPS. I've read that raising my shader cache size might fix it though.
