Diseased Rowling Derangement Syndrome - "TERF/Woke Author Bad!!1"

You know what is sad? This game (and maybe Atomic Heart) are contenders for game of the year but they won't win GOTY or any awards for obvious reasons. Game journalists will do everything they can to make sure those games don't win any awards. That is fucking pathetic.
Hopefully, Hogwarts Legacy will pick up GOTY and cause the seethe to continue

How expensive could it be to pay off a smaller gaming outlet in Poland or whatever to declare it a game of year, so the publishers can put out a proper GOTY edition?

It's only February and this is supposed to be a massive year for gaming. Breath of the Wild was basically the game of the century for plenty of people that year and the sequel comes out this year. Diablo 4 comes this year. Starfield comes this year. Jedi Survivor, RE4 remake, Spiderman 2, Final Fantasy 16, like you said Atomic Heart, Baldur's Gate 3 full release, Age of Empires 2 Remastered, the list goes on and on and those are just games we already know are coming.
This game probably won't win GOTY, but it has nothing to do with evil conspiracies and everything to do with the competition being sky high, a 9/10 game doesn't stand a chance in 2023.

You can't play Quidditch in this game. The excuse? Asshole headmaster (racist Sirius Black ancestor) has canceled the season. The real reason? They probably already have the Quidditch DLC ready to go, perhaps for Christmas, perhaps for earlier release.

With sales so far, they won't stop at DLC and probably will make a full sequel. It doesn't matter that it won't win GOTY. It's already a massive success.

Imagine trying to pretend a 1/10 was a reasonable viewpoint and not a spastic temper tantrum from a demented troon.
Seeing troons realize that no one gives a fuck about them is delicious. I don't even understand the logic behind the game "spreading Rowling's views", but I wish I did so I could mock it even harder.
Troon shocked that more people on a video games forum are more in games than in the tears of a madman who cut his dick off and is now angry.

It's honestly heartwarming reading about all the people here enjoying the game. I've always liked the Harry Potter franchise and thought there was endless potential to make video games in the setting, and Harry Potter fans have been waiting for a game like this since the franchise fucking exploded in popularity. Sure there have been Harry Potter video games, but most of those force you into the role of Harry and the characters in his books, so a game set in the wizarding world where you can create a character of your own and actually go around doing things you want to do without being shoved down the familiar story of the books is refreshing.

On top of that you get to have fun while angry unlikable people seethe about it, which is also fun.

Sorry for double posting, I can't add quotes to an edited post for some reason.

I got some screenshots of the replies, for posterity.

And there's more. I did not see a single positive reply, lmao.

Unbelievable that gamers would care more about playing an awesome videogame than the genocide currently happening against trans people.

Oh wait, there's no genocide, troons have more rights than ever, and no one would care if there was one happening. Cope, sneed, dilate, and 41% yourself.

This might've already been posted but I can't be arsed to read anything beyond the highlights in this thread.

This article came up for me earlier and while I clicked on it out of sheer curiosity as to how rent-free Hogwarts Legacy has to be for trannies to make this, my attention got dragged around by

1676117639321.png
The necessary acknowledgement of the funny sex number, which I wouldn't expect anything less, but more importantly

1676117693975.png
60 DOLLARS.

As much as Hogwarts Legacy itself.

I thought this was meant to be some sort of charity bundle designed to retaliate against J.K. Rowling or whatever, but it's so expensive. I could understand it for 69 items, but I've gotten a couple of the other big charity bundles from itch.io and they were both over forty pages of games for only five bucks. And considering how I thought the average tranny was meant to be living off of welfare bucks, how was this the path they took.

So let me get this straight.
The game initially tells you that goblins are being rebellious and that putting them down is the goal, but then at the end it subverts your expectations and reveals that they were framed by someone who wanted to use them as a scapegoat?
The game is antisemitic because on that date there was a pogrom. Picking a date and people happening to have hated jews on that date then is like jumping out of a boat and landing on water.

It's also not a shofar. It's a mediaeval hunting horn.

I know modern review scores are fucked to where even if a game is average it gets a 7, but discarding that what games nowadays do deserve a 1/10?

Really 1/10 things should signal that they're so astonishingly horrible you can't even get an ironic enjoyment from it even if you get it from the bargin bin or watch the cinematics of it on Youtube.

1/10 should be reserved for exploitative cash-grabs which are buggy and have no redeeming gameplay qualities.

It doesn’t subvert them as much as the spoilers going around make it sound.

The goblins are not suddenly your friend and the humans are the real enemy, no, the game always makes it clear that some goblins are okay and Ranrok’s aren’t. It definitely does throw in a “not all goblins” moment once or twice, yet the final adversary is still VERY MUCH Ranrok.

The cope is officially on. Now that streamers are playing it at record-breaking numbers and it's getting good reviews it will only get worse as people discover that Twitter and Discord aren't reality. This was the best example I saw:

Late reply but I know several people who work in the games industry and there ARE pay structures that include payment after the game is published. Salaried employees can get bonuses for number of sales at certain companies, and while this doesn't mean they go without their main paycheck if you don't buy the game, this sort of thing is counted towards their overall compensation packages. Despite what companies and raw salary numbers would have you believe, when you take out these sorts of perks, the pay is not that good (especially given the high cost of living in tech centers).
