On the other hand, people often point to Rowling's more controversial (depending on the viewer, I didn't find any such opinions on her tweets) posts as evidence of why she should be boycotted, while conveniently ignoring the miles long list of harassment and death threats she's been putting up with. Some people have blamed her for an increase in hate crimes against trans people, which is bonkers!

In my opinion, no-one is better at radicalizing people against the trans rights movement than some of the lunatics they harbour in their midst. The whole shitshow regarding this game has been one of the most retarded, narcissistic ideas I have ever seen. People are getting harassed for playing a fucking video game!

It's insane to say Rowling is conducting a genocide or anything like that, let alone that playing a video game is endorsing that. Unhinged opinions, such as "Silence is violence", only serve to piss people off against your cause. It's honestly hard to imagine they don't know they're lying, because you can find all of this information, from multiple sources, in one Google search.

Someone pointed out on Tumblr, but it's far more likely the date is meant to align with the Pendle Witch Trials, one of the most famous witch trials in all of British history. It makes a lot more sense.

Regardless, the reference is so obscure that it makes zero sense to claim this is somehow propaganda meant to radicalize people into hating Jews, like the troons are all claiming it does. Nobody is looking at that horn and thinking "hey this looks like an obscure medieval Jewish horn!" No one is seeing the date 1612 and thinking "ahh yes, the year of the Fettmilch Uprising, surely this is intended to make me think genociding Jewish people is okay because they genocided Jewish people in 1612" not least because (repeating for emphasis) the Fettmilch Uprising didn't happen until 1614 and the dude who led it was hanged like two years later for doing it which is hardly an endorsement of anti-Jewish violence. No one is seeing cheese stuffed in a horn and thinking "OF COURSE! This specific kind of cheese isn't kosher and obviously this is a coded message about shutting up Jewish people and tainting them with non-kosher foods, not a mere example of being comically specific for a joke effect!" If this is supposed to be propaganda, it's remarkably bad at it.
