RWBY - The Hindenburg on which Rooster Teeth rests its hopes, dreams and future

New FIXING RWBY Episodes:
It’s the same as The Lost Fable, but 75 times worse.

Pretty much, the only things I found interesting was the way the characters read the story, the Gods of Light and Darkness are called the Gods of Light and Death, and this has the debut of Maria, with the episode ending of her killing some Grimm and asking if the crew is going to stand around before complaining about throwing her back out.

This shit is just genuinely worse than the source material to be honest. At least V6's first half was efficient.

If you listen to 'I Burn', and then look into the new shitty Yang themes, they're both so fucking mean.

Like, the songs go from "I'm going to hit you, and you'll have little cartoon hearts around your head." to literally "I'll piss on your corpse."
>Giving the yellow character piss lyrics
Which song is this? I didn't know they had new ones.

Somehow RWBY is getting new figures from Good Smile Company, I can’t help but feel vindicated that it’s proof the original designs are the best and most loved. Trying to redesign them every season was a mistake. I don’t wanna go overboard sperging about it but it seems the same artist from Season 1 does their concept art even now and I don’t know how she’s gotten worse at character design. Her strength is more in illustration. I hate riding Monty dick but the wiki does say she ‘worked very closely’ with him and his sketches were the basis for hers, what with the way he used to dress himself at cons it wouldn’t surprise me if RWBY’s first outfits are owed to his personal style as well. I mean, look at Weiss from V1 (regular and Snowpea outfit) then from W7 and tell me the same designer would let that happen? Then again maybe Einlee is good at modern fashion but was given crap direction when things went bootleg Final Fantasy, I don’t know.

Ignite.

Linking it, but I like the farms too much to embed it and force everyone else to even see it.

This song is shit, but I always felt the tone of it was wrong for the context that they used it in. (Character short of Yang beating the shit out of an Ursa to save Ruby) Grimm don't have parents, or feelings, they're basically machines to kill people. A better use of a song like this would be for when Yang is fighting a human enemy.
You know like Cinder, who supposedly wanted to get revenge on Ruby (but never tried). Yang would naturally have an amnosity for Cinder if Cinder was actively pursuing Ruby, but that's not happening. Yang doesn't seem to care as much about Ruby these days for the sake of bees. It'd be a neat rivalry, since they're both fire users, but the show cares very little about having characters who aren't partners interact with each other it seems.

When the Wikia hates the V7 redesigns, you know it's bad. Monty wanted the characters to be cool, but easy to cosplay as. All those zippers, and you still have no idea how the characters could undress properly.
Weiss's giant braid became a meme, I have no clue how any one could pull that off, unless Rooster Teeth made a wig or something. Also um, braids tend to make thick hair thinner. I do like braids in any form, but it doesn't fit Weiss.
Blake's short hair looked bad. It's better now that they've thickened it, but it's visually very similar to her mom's hair. I guess they're going the route of Summer Rose where mom and daughter are lazily identical.
Her V4 outfit was bad too. Blake's V1 design is my favorite, partly because it has white, but it's not the main color, and has pretty flowing bits but is still practical enough for stealth. If you pay attention, all of her outfits from the Monty era have white in them, but give her a slim silhouette. "Thanks for getting rid of that white coat Adam!" was a running joke for a little while.
Ruby and Yang, I got nothing, they're just generic.

Yeah, it's little facts like that which make me assume he was behind the designs, not her, I don't have hard proof but it's so obvious he basically had her on board since she can actually and he can't. He's the giant weeb, he'd be looking at anime designs often enough to develop his visual taste (I dunno about his taste for stories though, you can add Sword Art Online on the list of shit that was RT's anime homework).

Oh. Oh no. They're doing it in the same style as the RWBY show?
A little late, but fisting DC characters into RWBY just really shows how bland and same-y all the character models look.
What's even the point of superheroes in Remnant, when huntsman (and by enlarge, most of the population) are basically superheroes already?
It's kinda pathetic, anyone who hasn't been living under a rock for the past five years knows that RT and DC are rapidly dying (RT faster, but you know). At least RWBY's previous crossovers could make the franchise leech on one that wasn't a beaten horse.
EDIT: grammar

This is Celtic’s response regarding Episodes 6 and 7:
To hopefully clarify things, there were quite a few changes made, especially since back in Volume 5 I already had Ozpin be upfront about Salem being immortal, which was the initial big reveal at this point in canon. Since that's no longer the focus, the big reveal in this circumstance is that Ozpin doesn't want to end the conflict, that he wants to perpetuate it in order to keep his beloved alive. That's a rather massive character change, and it recontextualizes Ozpin as a morally dubious figure throughout the history of the series.

There are other, smaller changes that have been made, as well. Presentation-wise, we used the framing-device of stories told through history in order to obscure fine details that could lead to contradiction if left unaccounted for. Jinn's goal was to deliver what Ozpin was hiding, not a beat-by-beat, 100% accurate retelling of events. This in-turn, characterizes Jinn's function and personality in one fell swoop.

More specific details that were changed related to certain character actions and existences. For example, no longer are the Gimm manifest before humanity exists. Instead, the God of Death (as opposed to the God of Darkness), being more petulant and rebellious, creates the Grimm as an accidental result of Salem manipulating him. This leads to Salem repenting for her wrongs and bringing shadow upon the world, which led to her worship as a false god, leading to the gods wiping out all of humanity. This characterizes her as repentant and heroic before becoming embittered by the petty actions of the gods, as opposed to automatically vengeful after she, y'know, slighted the gods pretty hardcore.

Fast forwarding a bit to when she and Ozpin are together again, one of the key changes we made was to demonstrate how Ozpin's heroic ambitions ended up creating Salem's megalomania. The two of them lost themselves to the power they had among this second humanity and became tyrannical together, and it was only after tragedy that Ozpin broke free and Salem finally snapped.

All of this culminates to better reflect Ozpin's line of "I have made more mistakes than any man, woman, or child," from back in Volume 1, while in canon he was largely faultless as to what happened between him and Salem. Now he's not, now he's got a lot of blood on his hands and arguably all of the blood from Salem's hands too.

As for the framing device, we felt it was a more natural integration than just having the characters standing in the given scenes, aimlessly watching it like it was a movie. Instead, each transition reflected upon each of the main cast, invoking a powerful memory from their past and a story they may have read at some point in their lives. This is further amplified by the thematic ties between characters and the scenes that they are witnessing.

• Neo witnesses Salem be saved by Ozpin, much like she was saved by Roman as a child.
• Yang witnesses Salem losing Ozpin, echoing her own struggle with abandonment and loss.
• Blake sees Salem become absorbed by her pain and commit unethical acts to get Ozpin back, echoing Blake becoming a zealous extremist in the White Fang.
• Weiss watches as Salem attempts to repent for her past wrongs, just as Weiss is still struggling with reforming from her racism.
• Ruby sees Ozpin rising as a hero chosen by the gods and struggling with morally complicated questions, reflecting her ever-present desire to be a hero.
• Qrow more so witnesses the man he trusted to be a paragon of good literally become a tyrannical dictator and create the monster he's been fighting his whole life.
• And Roman witnesses how Ozpin sheds his previous hosts' lives in order to further his never-ending war.

Now I can fully admit, some of these parallels aren't exactly perfect, but they don't need to be one-to-one to get both the characters and the audience thinking.

I could probably dive into more, but hopefully I've laid out enough to clarify that there were several changes made and they all further a deeper purpose to enrich the depicted events.

Still, I thank you for watching and thank you for the feedback! Sometimes people miss things and this helps me fine-tune my craft so more and more people can pick up on what I write! Have a good one!
Make that as you will.

Goddamn his fart huffing is so strong that I can smell the stench from the texts. For what reason is this shit relevant? No, seriously, what bearing does have to the plot? I don't know how but he manages to outdo Miles & Kerry's retardation with his rewrites every fucking volume and the best and most ironic part is that the very same people that kiss his ass all fucking chastise CRWBY for doing the same thing. All Raymond literally does different is he adds even more unnecessary and convuluted shit to the growing trash heap. :story:

Do you remember when you read Hemingway in high school and there was always that one teacher who was way too into Hemingway? Would tell you all about "the iceberg" or whatever the fuck about how "one third of the meaning of Hemingway is in the writing and two thirds is in the context and inference"?

Celtic thinks he's Hemingway.

No I don’t.
