Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

Though I'll disagree on restricting movement, just because I like it when games slow you down so that you don't accidentally reach your destination before the conversation ends. For something like GTA I'd just pull the car over and wait until everyone was done talking.
If by pull over you mean try to do some aerials and get stunt points, sure.

I absolutely hate online multiplayer. Give me a couch, a few friends, some snacks and I’m good. Win a few games, lose a few games. We have fun

Online gaming is autistic on a whole other level. Gaming is supposed to be fun, not a full time job. I’m no expert player, but I’m not bad, and I get absolutely massacred every time by some 40 year old mouth breathing autist still living with mommy who eats, breathes and sleeps the game and can devote so much time to it because he doesn’t have a job.

Maybe I’m just old, maybe I just need to git gud but I have more fun playing with a group of real life friends than these losers

The cattle herding minigame from Red Dead (made a return in Red Dead 2 with sheep), that thing that people bitched about so much, was about my favorite minigame. It's satisfying in a similar manner to how I assume those autists that play Farming Simulator feel, it's a task that has no real challenge or action but is still engaging in a tactile and visual way, and is peaceful. You sweep behind the cattle to make them bunch up together, you nip at a flank to make them turn. Cattle can wander off and need to be brought back. Throw in some cowdogs and you have a decent little system to go in your farming game. I was bummed out when I got to John Marston's part of RDR2 and didn't get to herd my dogies but instead had to just shoot more dudes. I mean, there could have at least been a cattle herd at Beecher's Hope, get some flow of income from the ranch and you have to move the cattle to a new field every now and then to keep the flow at maximum level. A more detailed thing would be that the cattle put on weight, more if they're in a fresh field, and you drive them in to Valentine to sell them off in a mass. Wolves can kill cows, so sometimes you might get one and then you need to go hunt it down to stop the losses. The ability to play a domestic farm life as John would have been really nice.

"Soulslike" is a retarded term that needs to be annihilated, including the phrases "It's just like Dark Souls," and "the Dark Souls of (blank)."

Dark Souls did not invent difficulty, stamina bars and all of existence. Stop comparing everything to it, you autist.

"Kiwi Farms is the Dark Souls of transphobia."

This may be seen as an unpopular opinion, but it's the truth. I think part of the problem is with videogames going mainstream, people don't deviate from the mainstream. So Dark Souls is the metric for hard/difficult. They never played a fuck you puzzle game like La Mulana, they never played a high skill game like Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry (at least, not on higher difficulties), and I could go on and on. So to keep things in their dumb brain and to properly trasmit their wrong idea to other retards, compare it to Dark Souls.

Madden games over the years have a pretty bad track record when it comes to predicting Super Bowl wins. Some are successful, others are just based on coincidence.

Even then, the real thing does not come close to the fake thing.

Are people calling games that don't have contiguous worlds and no save/restore mechanic "soulslike" just because they're hard?

Unpopular Opinion: Skies of Arcadia is not actually good. It's mediocre at best, and receives heaps of undue praise solely because the Dreamcast and Gamecube never got Final Fantasy.

The people who keep getting screwed by Call of Duty deserve it and need to stop bitching and start not buying the games.

And I say this as someone who bought this years Call of Duty. They brought me back in for Cold War after I didn't buy a title since Advance Warfare (although technically, it was bundled with my PS4 so really the last title I bought was Black Ops 2)

I didn't buy Vanguard cause it looked like shit, and then it turned out to be a shit show way too focused on the F2P and not on the paid product on top of it. I was stupid to think this was an issue with Sledgehammer games and not something that was being actively supported by Activision.

Nobody has anyone to blame but themselves. Is the whole situation scummy? Sure, but it's time to stop blaming developers/publishers and start blaming ourselves for being too fucking retarded to just stop buying these games that continuously suck ass and are exploitatively.

Games are cringe and complete waste of time (no exceptions).
Reminds me of an theory I heard awhile back.

Essentially if you are done with schooling then you are not the target audience for games. Children are who games are made for and they are happy with garbage quality content.

I feel it holds some weight. Still, you can find games that are gems but it won't be in the mainstream.

I believe it.

I've started to grow bored with games more and more the farther away from school I've gotten.

The only people that I know that *really* get hyped for games and aren't kids are literally on the verge of being retards, and many of them dropped out lol

MWII is a failure if you think about it. It couldn't live up to the original's legacy OR the 2019's evolution of the franchise. They tried to have it be "edgy" but ends up bloating the campaign with exposition and overindulge on character development.

Yeah, I don't get the people who say the campaign was good.

It was boring and drawn out. And the story lacks weight.

The whole thing is just the biggest failure of Call of Duty in years, maybe in the entire series.

Parents who whine about how their kids waste time on GTA but then turn around and play solitaire for hours - yeah, those parents are hypocritical bastards.
Though, it doesn’t kind of help that those same kids are wasting unnecessary amounts of women spending it on the latest jet pack or costume choice in GTA Online.

A huge part of is knowing the people you play with, whether you're all pros, having fun, or trying to be stupid.

Co-op games are even more of a problem. They can't be done with retards, you have to think on the same wavelength.

It's a modern remake. To be expected, really.

And what makes it worse, is that both Battlefield and Halo fumbled their latest titles (which is a massive understatement), leaving Activision the prime opportunity to grow the player base with MWII, only to squander that opportunity.
