Going to go out on a limb and also suggest that Intel's need for layoffs in 2015-2016 was a different situation than the software giants doing it in 2022-2023 in the wake of a global pandemic.

First picture you can tell it's a man's skull even with only 1/3 of it showing.

The whole 2nd picture is just unnatural in every way. The way he is holding the COVID tests is just unnatural and uncomfortable (try it out, there more normal and comfortable ways to hold something up). The dead eyes that have no spark of life in them. The glasses that don't fit the face. The weird mask (outside lol) tops it off too. Nothing about that picture is normal and the whole thing is very off-putting, like an alien who has heard of a selfie, but never actually seen one.

and the background is weird too. Looks like a parking garage. A normal person taking this photo might do it in their car and be happy the COVID test was negative and not wear the Darth Vader mask.

He reminds me of that AI generated picture of the Party goers, that one that looks kinda demonic and off putting, and triggers the uncanny valley response, except those weird AI generated party goers, even with their multiple fingers, soulless eyes and too many teeth, look far more human and less likely to drug you and eat your skin after a "consent accident" than Dong Gone.
I think the thing they have in common is a lack of a soul.
