On Feb 7th, Dr. Freet took around a 2x12 inch, full thickness graph from my thigh, to lower my penis from just under my stomach to my pelvic bone area. He also reshaped my penis and attempted to reduce the girth to 5 inches. The surgery was a success. Although everything is very swollen right now and I look a bit like Frankenstein until the puffiness reduces and my new incisions heal and fade.
My penis was lowered 2 inches, to a position I’m very happy with, and a good portion of the tight scars causing me pain when sitting have been removed. I don’t even care about all the new lower abdominal scars. I’m just happy to have my penis sit in a more comfortable position. Also, Dr. Freet was able to close my thigh with a single incision. My thigh has been the most painful part of this procedure.
Another thing to note, no surgical work was done to my urethra at this time. The urologist reverified that it healed great, but my bladder is so stretched (unrelated to urethra surgery) and inactive that I needed an emergency Foley catheter after surgery because I had severe urine retention again. We tried to remove it this past Friday, but I was still retaining a dangerous amount of urine. We will try to remove it again this upcoming Friday.
It’s hard to tell what my girth will be. Although Dr. Freet felt confident he got me close to my goal. Right now I’m 6.75 inches at the base and I taper down to 5 inches and smaller towards the tip. Going in I was 6 inches in girth at the base and 7 inches towards the middle. The whole debulking process is frustrating because I’ve currently lost sensation with the bottom of my penis being cut open for plication and I’m no where near where I hope to be girth wise. Hopefully the sensation loss is temporary and the swelling goes down a ton.
This upcoming Wednesday I have my post opt appointment with Dr. Freet and I think I’ll get to see my leg and get my drain tubes removed.
