Wait a second, is she claiming she was raped?
Her dad seems to be in her life, does he not notice how bad she is?
Yep.Do we have a thread on David? He seems like the special kind of person that needs some dedicated attention.
Nora needs immediate hospitalization and detox. If she's mixing alcohol and benzos, she could very easily slip into a coma and die.He probably does but she clearly hasn't gone without health care and the fact that she hasn't improved after diagnosis and treatment of multiple conditions probably leads him to think that she's a fragile snowflake who must be coddled.
FWIW, benzos are only meant to be a bridge for managing anxiety while you learn better coping and stress management skills. Unless used very sparingly (genuinely PRN), they quickly become ineffective for anything other than preventing benzo withdrawal symptoms - which are quite similar to the conditions they're used to treat.

It's possible she was raped. Maybe that's what started the whole downward spiral.
@The Colonel Yeah, that's what I was driving at. The benzo addiction is making her paranoid. I wonder if she's so miserable she wants to die so she does risky things like combining Xanax and booze, in a subconscious attempt to kill herself, but she can't quite bring herself to just down the whole bottle with a chaser of whatever's in the liquor cabinet. She mentions not being able to leave the house. She hasn't worked in six years, all she seems to do is write spam bots, rail on twitter and be miserable. What she really needs is a reason to live beyond getting into Twitter fights, but only she can provide that. She definitely needs closer monitoring, at the very least. Whether she's actually combining Xanax and alcohol isn't clear.
Xanax is short-acting, so it's possible for someone to take Xanax and also drink alcohol without combining the two, if they're only taking the Xanax PRN. Of course people with multiple psych issues are generally advised to severely limit their alcohol consumption for other reasons, as are people with sleep apnoea.
Dual diagnosis facilities don't have a great track record, so she'd likely just become a frequent flier until such time as she learns non-pharmaceutical means for managing her anxiety and stress (not going to happen given her history of seeking out confrontation with people).
