Yeah I was thinking about too, though ignoring him has helped this thread have better focus. No matter what happens, I think he'll have a hateboner against the Farms that will manifest in different ways (Facebook posts, videos, etc). Judaism as far as the mainstream goes has 3 sects at least: Orthodox (which itself has 2 sects), Conservative, and Reform Judaism. That doesn't account for non-Talmudic Jews like Samaritans and Karaites. Buddhism has at least 2 sects: Therevada and Mahayana, who have very different goals and interpretations. Mahayana has innumerable sects from there that go way beyond the scope of this post, and Japanese and Tibetan/Mongolian Buddhism may as well be counted as unique from the rest of Mahayana Buddhism. While there is uniformity of goals and beliefs in Therevada, practices differ wildly from region to region. Hinduism has 4 major sects that even contradict each other; Vishnavaiyosm, Savavaiyism, Smartism, and Shaktism and even those have individual schools of thought. Islam has at least 3 sects, Sunni, Shia, and Ibadi. In Sunni you have 4 schools of jurisprudence; Hanafi, Maliki, Shaafi, and Hanbali, all have radically different interpretations of Hadith and the Quran, and that doesn't even account for new religious movements like Salafism and Wahhabism or Quranists (who reject the Hadith). Shia have at least three sects: Twelvers, Ismailia, and Zayidis. Twelvers await the return of the 12th Imam, Ismailia follow Aga Khan or the other major leader who's name escapes me (depending on if they're Nizari or Musta'ali respectively), and Zayidis mostly live in Yemen and follow descendants of Hussain Ibn Ali. Ibadi are very legalistic and reject parts of both Sunni and Shia interpretation but are generally tolerant of Non-Muslims. That doesn't begin to account for the various schools of Sufism; Bektashi, Naqshabandis, and the like - or their suborders. Nor does it account for smaller sects like Alevis, Alawites, Druze, and Ahmaddiya, and even then arguably the Baha'i are a sect of Islam. Every religion has splinters you fucking idiot and very different interpretations from sect to sect.
