My theory: blame Anthrocon for being hosted in Pittsburgh. The convention alone brings in enough tourism money that it's considered one of the city's most profitable events (not the highest, but easily second or third). There are a few other conventions based in PA as well: Furrydelphia, Western PA Furry Weekend, and the short-lived Capital City Fur Con, which went up in flames in a spectacular fashion. I've personally been working on a thread for the Capital City chairman for a while now if you're curious to know more.
That's too bad. I remember doxing some troon cultist years ago, and it involved searching through Pittsburgh. Never been there in my life, but the hilly landscape in the suburbs, and the quaint houses tucked into the valleys, it all struck me as being quite beautiful, as far as you can grasp from Jewgle street view. Come to think of it, the West Coast is a stunning landscape, but in both Canada and the US it's infamous for being the most wacked out, smacked out, commie madhouse.
